I think this recall is BS.
If the owners manual says change your brake fluid every 2 years and you go 5 years and don't change your brake fluid and the antilock brakes stop working how is that the manufactures fault? If riders are changing their fluid every two years and the antilock are still failing that is a reason for a recall. So now if I don't change my oil for 5 years and my engine seizes up is it the manufactures fault? |

Ever hear of term call overhead? Usually set by accounting & legal dept. @ 100%.
When max-pressure is printed on sidewalk of tyre, that means it’ll probably blow off rim at 100% more than that (double). Oil-changes that can go 10k-miles on a Toyota or 15k-miles on Porsche are recommended at 5k and 7.5k miles. Brake fluid? If they say every year, it can go 2-yrs In Harley’s case, they push that limit to very end and didn’t give themselves any overhead for safety. They know their brake system will only go 2-yr max. They should recommend flush every year in the manual. But who’s gonna buy a bike knowing they have to change brake-fluid every 1-year when everyone else's bike can go 2-5yrs?
