helmet with carry on bag?

anybody know if you can bring a helmet on with your carry on bag? just wondering might be flying somewhere to pick up a bike possibly.

I'm pretty sure you won't get any problems with Southwest Airlines, if that's who you're flying. I fly for them and I've seen more than a few helmets as carry-on baggage.

All you'd have to do is loop it through the handle of a carry-on bag and it qualifies as part of that bag.

That's Southwest. I can't guess what any other airline will say.

You shouldn't have any problems. I've seen sorts of things as carry on baggage and neither TSA nor the airlines have any issues bringing a helmet on.
