HID Headlight Flicker
Have an interesting problem that I wanted to run by you all before I decided to yank and replace the relay.
My low beam light runs fine 100% of the time but when I turn on the high beam the high beam will warm up just fine, then when operating temperature has been reached it will begin to flicker, only at idle though. If at any other speed the high beam remains as stable as my low beam. I've always been plagued by HID troubles with this bike, my last set that came with the bike was stable as far as the high and low beams were concerned by staying on without a problem, unless you ran over a jolting bump. Then both would shut completely off until you cycled the ignition. My idea list for potential problems in order is as follows: 1) Headlight Relay 2) Voltage Regulator/Rectifier 3) The High Beam's Ballast 4) Any of the rest of the charging system (stator, flywheel etc) I'll test the ballast sometime by simply swapping ballasts on both headlights. That'll at least knock one of the possibilities off the list easily. My connections are solid and the battery is new, actually running with a CTZ10S battery instead of stock but I doubt that's causing any problem, all my headlight woes started well before I did the battery conversion. Dug through some past threads but none really gave me much more of an idea than the car forums I've checked out in the past. Anyone have any other ideas for this specific issue? Thanks

I vote your not sending enough voltage to the ballast at idle.
I also vote for not really listening to me and waiting for others to chime in. |

It takes more juice to ignite the bulb then sustain it.
I would swap the ballasts to see if the problem follows it or not.

Consider running a hid relay harness it's what I do on cars that have these issues.
