Turn signals stopped working.

Pretty sure this is the right place for this. anyway...

I had a turn signal bulb go out on me. Left front. Went to change the bulb and the zipper on my sleeve touched the socket and there was a "bzzt" sound. Idiotic mistake to leave the turn signal ON while changing the bulb, I know.

Now the whole turn signal system doesn't work. Left, right, hazards, none. Tried changing the flasher relay but that didn't work. Haven't had a chance to get a multimeter on it yet. Fuses were checked, none were bad, but replaced them anyway.
I couldn't check the switch itself. The assembly is pretty tightly put together, and I couldn't get inside it.

Any ideas what the culprit could be? It's a fairly old bike, some of the electric bits look like they crawled out of frankenstein's lab.

If you shorted it out the fuse should have protected the switch and other electrical componets. I'd check the fuse again. If the fuse is OK then I would start checking for 12V power at each point from the fuse block to the bulb socket. That will show what is wrong.
