StangGT Vs. Ninja250

When I get my bike I would like to run it against my GT to see which is quicker.

It's a 2000 GT with JBA headers, stock mid-pipe (swapping to an o/r H when the weather get warm), Flowmaster Cat, 373 gears, BBk intake, and pro 5.0 short throw shifter. Forgot to mention it has a k-member with upr coil-over kit and lowering springs front and rear. also UPR lower control arms.

The ninja will probably be stock.

What do you guys think?

Hmmm...I believe the stang will probably take this one in a straight line....depending on how good of a driver you are with controlling wheel spin (On the stang not the ninja haha) Once you start getting into the higher speeds the Ninja unfortunately wont have a chance. Yet take it to a nice and twisty mountian road and I bet to Ninja will be faster, more composed, and just more fun Let us know!

From a standing start, decent driver: the mustang has it. From a rolling start, you might out accelerate for the first 1/8th but he will catch up and leave you behind.

i am not sure how twisty the road has to be before the 250 will beat a modified mustang. the whole road would have to be just one turn after another before it would stand a chance i think... otherwise, whatever ground the mustang lost in the turns, it would make up in the straightaways.

straight line.... no contest of course. the mustang would take it even if it was stock. throw in the fact that you got gears, intake, and soon to be a full exhaust, the 250 would be in the dust before you got to 2nd gear.

my prediction could be off. having both vehicles, i wouldn't mind to be proven wrong.

no matter how fast my mustang is, if the weather is nice, i still like riding my bike more. maybe because it is still a new toy, but also because it is hard to beat the sensation of riding a motorcycle in the turns.

that is why i was mentioning "soon to be full exhaust". i should have mentioned "soon to be full aftermarket exhaust" since you said you are going to be getting your off-road h soon. should sound mean after that!!! of course, i hope you don't mind the smell of gas.

i got an 07 gt with a hellion turbo. this is my 4th mustang. turbo manufacturer and others have recommended sticking with the stock shorty since it is just as good as aftermarkets up to 10 lbs boost. i am only running 8 right now. still got the stock cats. wanted to keep it legal.... for now. also running the stock 3.31 rear gears since higher ratio gears supposed to be better for turbos.

also, got the steeda shocks/struts/camber plates for an advertised 1 1/4" drop front and a 1" drop rear... never really measured the difference, but the 4x4 look is gone. coast driveline aluminum driveshaft. bmr panhard bar and brace. ford racing borla stinger axle back exhaust. 255/45/18 front 285/40/18 rear bfg kdr2 tires on "gt40 replica" wheels... umm... i don't know what else... bling stuff..... umm.... seems like i am forgetting something.

did you ever reflash your computer? if not, may i suggest doug from bamachips? his mail order tunes are great with non-fi cars. of course, custom tuning is always more accurate, but my tuner was unable to improve on his tune when i was still running a cai. of course, you will especially need a tune if you go to an off-road.

My stock (with exhaust) 99 GT auto went 13.99 in great air.. 14.0s otherwise.. that's with stock 3.27s... A stock Ninja 250 (pre08 or 08/09) will not be that quick.... figure ig you can hook your GT should go low to mid 13 in good air.

I can say that 60mph on a bike feels much faster though.. lol

Hellion eh? Cool kit.. always thought about a turbo.. Ive had an S trim on my other stang for about 13 years now though... the sound never gets old.

Its a 306 with heads/intake/cam/Strim.. all smog intact, cats on, smog pump, etc.. full weight with AC and PS.. makes about 500 to the tires... nice all around street car.

This pic was last year before I put on the hood lifters.. much easier without the prop rod.

I polished and chrome a lot of it starting a few years ago.. stopped racing and started driving and sometimes showing it. Lately it has just been sitting waiting for me to have time, motivation and time.. lol

The Ninja is fun.. working on a much smaller scale and easier to move it 'out of the way' if necessary.. lol

What's wrong with flow?
I like the deep tone.
it's all personal preference.
we all know exhaust doesn't increase much hp on a 2v.
it's all good. a slowmaster is better than no master.

Thats a good one, I like that.

Yeah it is all good Just at ya! Seems like all you mustang boys like them flowmasters.
Anyway, had to get my in for the old camaro/stang rivalry

For JBA, those bastards..... took in some a-arms so they could install some Gloabal West bushings. They freaking bent one of them, So I now call them.... "J"ust "B"ends "A"-arms LOL.

One of mine has em.. the other has Dynomax Ultra Flows... but Flows do have a classic sound on Stangs.

Sucks about the a-arms.. I bet you were getting del-a-lums.. they get good write ups.

adam, love the 88. what is that? the stalker front bumper and cobra r hood? i see you also did the 5 lug conversion with the cobra rims. sweet engine bay shot too!!!

i had an 88 before too. it was a 5.0 hatch. all i did was the AOD shift kit, oil cooler, 3.73s, borla cat backs, cobra grille insert, flow-fits seats, centerline rims.... umm... that's about it on that car.

oh yeah and thanks on the compliment of the turbo. that was a hard decision, but i decided to be a bit different. seems like everyone in my club was either running centris or screws. i love the sound of the vortechs and paxtons though. sounds like a jet engine or something...

tin, love your car too. can't go wrong with the mach 1 grille and front spoiler. the tinted headlights and the vinyl (i am guessing) taillights.... sweet! the only thing i would suggest is changing out those center caps on your bullits. also, maybe painting your spoiler black and maybe even the center of your hood black as well. that would look mean!! finish off the silver/black theme that you started.

i posted some shots of my GT and engine before, but here are a few more... that last pic was before my side stripes and smoke 3rd LED brake light...:

thanks!! my power sucks. i am still running a slightly modified mail order tune. i can't even use the power i have now here in hawaii, so i am not too motivated to spend $400-$500 to get it tuned better.

but i got 410 rwhp and 395 ft/lbs torque on 8 lbs of boost. the scary thing about turbos is that more boost is just a spring or shim away. i am still running my cats, so those don't help. but yeah, the turbo has way more power available than my stock block and tranny can handle.

well, they took our drag track/race course away. they are giving us another one, but it will be a while... they stiffened the laws here that if you are caught going 20 mph over the speed limit, or over 80 on the freeway, you are looking at possible jail time.... before it was 100 mph or more on the freeway.

since they took away our track, people have been taking it to the streets... and dying. so they came up with that new strict law. anyways, yeah, so i have much more power than i would be able to legally use as it is. merging onto the freeway or passing cars while going up steep inclines are no problem. i took my car up to 90 once by mistake. sad i know. for now, i am content with the power i have. if i have more, i will be tempted to use it.

disclaimer: once they give us back our track, forget everything i just said about having enough power.

When do you think you'll get your track back so you can use the car's full potential?

lol, thanks tin...

mike, i don't know how long it will take. i think they cleaned off the area of debris... they are going to start the dirt track first. i would guess 2-3 years for the drag strip? just a guess. i heard that a temporary 1/8 mile strip might be made sooner.

but yeah, back on topic... the mustang and the ninja 250 are 2 completely different experiences. with the 250, you won't win any drag races against a mustang, but the 250 is my transportation of choice when the road starts to curve.

with the ninja, it isn't how fast you get from point a to point b, it is the enjoyment you have getting there. i guess if i were to compare the ninja 250 to a car, the closest would be the mazda miata. now that was a fun car!

How weird.
I was thinking of getting a miata for this summer but unfortunately I can't afford both a miata and a bike so I decided to look for a bike instead.

well, you could afford it if you got rid of your clk. . nah, the benz is a cool car.

i had a 1990 miata before. GREAT car. i think it had something like 118 hp to the crank? so about 100 rwhp? idk. not fast in a straight line, but boy that car handled great and had a wonderful transmission.

kkkk...
you're funny bro.
the clk belongs to my bro.
I love the new miata with the hard top convertible.
I have to admit, mazda has been listening to their customers and reading their feedbacks cuz their cars are more reliable, more stylish and relatively quicker.
