Headlight for a naked conversion?
Hello, I recently saw a couple Ninjas with no front fairings and a round naked style headlight. My bike currently has no fairings so I wanted to try a conversion and see if I like it. I found some brackets I just cant find any headlights that might work, preferably no halo and 9003 bulb. If you guys have a suggestion I’d appreciate it

I used an EMGO standard 7" bucket. I got the black one with the chrome ring from Z1 Enterprises. I'm currently running a Truck Lite LED headlight.
https://www.z1enterprises.com/7-glos...-assembly.html They also have a couple styles of brackets in black and chrome. Mine are the cast aluminum ones. |

Here are the photos of the instrument mounts. If you look closely on a big screen you can probably get a pretty good idea of how I did it. I had to trim some of the excess plastic off the instrument housing. The tube on the speedometer cable end interfered with the headlight housing a little, so I had to carefully bend it a bit sharper, but not enough to cause any problem in the 6 years since then.

I cut the instrument cluster supports from aluminum angle, and did some bending. The black bracket that attaches to the handlebar mounts is welded from steel and painted.
I chose the 7" headlight bucket size because then it takes readily available automotive headlamps. Also the fork tube spacing makes the two ears parallel when you use a 7" bucket. I'm sure you could make a 6" bucket work fine though, maybe with some spacers between the ears and the bucket. |
