Only pins I recall on the levers, are on the brake light switch & clutch switch.

Yeah I think Kerry nailed this one. Check to see if your brake light activates when you grab the lever. I'm thinking the pin is what activates the brake switch that activates your brake lights.

Not sure that should have "fell" out though...

i had the same thing when installing new levers. i don't think anything fell out. i think you accidentally snapped a small plastic pin. if it was the same pin that i snapped on the clutch side then it's used to tell the bike you have the clutch in and the bike is safe to start. there is a name for it in the users manual. anyways, all it means it that you need to have the bike in neutral when you start the bike.

(note: i could be wrong. i had this exact problem and my bike wouldn't start unless in neutral but after a little while it would start while in first with the clutch in and now it's like there's nothing wrong at all. it's like my bike fixed itself but i know i threw the pin out because i couldn't fix it... weird. so this whole post by me might be useless. sorry.)

Yeah I'm thinking the switch has 2 screws in it. Maybe 1 is still holding it together.

It looks like there is only one screw there. Should be the right one though.

Hmmm... Maybe it was a screw dropped during assembly then. I say as long as everything functions and you've verified all screws needed are accounted for....you are good.
