So a did an insurance quote on a bigger bike...

Right now I pay $350 per year for my Ninjette.

For a 2008 Honda CBR600RR my quote was $1300...

Looks like I'm going to have to wait a year...

Sounds about right, I was quoted a bit more than that on a 2010 Triumph Daytona 675

I looked up like 5 bikes I'm considering for next year, and I found the Honda CBR 6's to be the cheapest insurance of the major 4 SS's. However, still more than a normal 'sport bike' model, like the 650R/SV650/FZR6.

Anyway $1300 yr doesn't sound to bad honestly, for that bike.
Options like MSF cert being faxed in may lower that too.

Just redid my insurance quotes and was under 750 (through rider with collision and comprehensive) which I find hard to believe I'd actually get that price since when I actually called for quotes it was double that.

At my ins. broker I got to look at the list and how the rates go up by bike cc and style.
There was a few mistakes on there with regards to classification so you may want to have a look at the list before you buy.

According to the list I saw, my ninja is not a sport bike and either is the new Aprilia Track only bike, at 130 HP !!!
If that's not corrected by the time I buy a track bike, that's where I'm going

geez, how old are you guys?

2011 Suzuki GSXR600- State farm quoted me at 379/year full coverage, $500 dollar deduc.

2009 ZX6R- State farm quoted me at 320/year full coverage, $500 dollar deduc.

I currently pay 132/year full coverage on the 250.

Given, my driving record is immaculate, and im 26yrsold.

Must be some tickets combined with young age or just poor insurance shiopping.

I paid $74/yr with $100 deductable on the N250.

Currently pay $538/yr, same deductable, for the RVT1000r. No matter how hard I tried to convince them otherwise there is no hiding or confusing what type of bike the RC is

This is through progressive.

Under 25, single, no tickets/accidents. I have Collision/Comprehensive/Liability(10k/25k/50k).

Geico and Progressive both quoted me $1000 for my 250 for just liability alone.

NJ insurance rates are pretty awful.

Looks like there is some advantage to being old.

State Farm quoted $21/month for full coverage on a 2011 Ducati Multistrada 1200s.

You live in NJ you might want to check out Rider they're pretty cheap. My liability would have been $60/year.

I was an old fan of the RC45 with Bostrom on it back in 98. When Colin whopped up on the WBSK in 00 with the RC51 I knew I had to have one someday. 02 rolled around and both Edwards (WSBK) and Nicky (AMA) championed up on the RC...yeah, let's just say my RC fate was sealed, lol. I really want an ole RC45 to coddle and park next to the RC. Hopefully I can start my v-twin/four superbike collection in a few years.....

Just was quoted $792 for full coverage and $396 for liability on my 06 R6 with state farm. Sucks too, cause I am 37 and have been with them for 10yrs, everything home, auto/bikes and life. Seems to much, the 250 is $180 per year, uggg.

I am 38, no tickets or accidents, with two bikes on my policy. My wife is on my policy as well (new rider with less than two years of riding experience). Full coverage on both bikes. $600/year through Nationwide.
