Question Side light bulb

Does anyone know how the side light bulb comes out? I got access to the rear of the headlamp and upgraded the headlamp bulbs but I couldn't get the side light bulb out

I was hoping to fit an LED side light bulb if possible!

Thanks

Dave

You mean the turn signals? I think there is a small screw holding the housing together.

It is just a screw holding the housing together. Beware though, if you're going to add in led turn signals, you are going to have to change your turn signal relay as well. You'll want to buy an electronic relay. You can find them at your local auto store.

Thanks for the replies but it's the side light or parking light bulb that I mean. The bulb is in the centre of the headlamp unit above the 2 main bulbs. Sorry we call it a side light in the UK

We don't have a bulb located there on the U.S. model, however if you take off the front cowl you may be able to see how to access it better. I know in certain parts of Europe, cars have one dim rear light a one dim front light on at night when parked on the street. Is that the same in the U.K.?

Sort of, we used to be able to ride with no lights, a small 4 or 5 watt side light bulb or headlamp. These days bikes don't give you these options, once running the headlamp is on. But the side light bulb is still there and comes on when you turn the ignition on like the tail lamp bulb.

I took the lower cover off to change the headlamp bulbs but could not remove the side lamp bulb. I could not see up there but I did not want to break anything.

If you can reach your hand up in there you may be able to feel it. My guess is it may be a wedge type bulb. They simply twist out like the bulbs in the gauge dash.

Thats what I thought but it didn't want to move I couldn't be bothered to strip the bike any further as it works OK.
