Beware of the Morons on Trikes.
Yesterday, while riding to the gym, I had a moron on a trike make a U-turn right in front of me (on a 4 lane divided road, A1A) and instead of turning and staying in the left lane he went straight across to the slow lane (after I was polite enough to move to the right lane to give him room). If he was on a motorcycle I would have gently wacked the passenger's helmet causing her helmet to hit his helmet and his helmet to hit the windshield but since they were on a trike I couldn't safely reach the back of her helmet. Being safety conscience I carefully gassed my trusty steed and blew by them drivebombing their front tire in hopes of them realizing there were others on the road besides them.
I'll have to add trikes to my lists of vehicles to beware of (which I classify as Prius, Volvo, Buick, and Saab). I usually explain to these types of drivers that I also own a large pickup truck and should they decide to pull the same maneuver while I'm in said pickup truck I will have the courtesy to drive right through them before attempting to stop.

Trikes are dangerous! A prime example are the off-road 3-wheelers that are no longer manufactured because so many people were having accidents with them.

I remember when I had a trike, it was a blast.
Once I turned 5 years old or so, it was time to upgrade to a big boy bike. |

They have ignition cut-outs for safety that won't let any kind of aggressive "riding." The computer shuts the engine down as soon as a wheel gets light, so Grandma doesn't roll it over. Nice engine though... |

Moronic behaviour exists with all kinds of vehicles. I'd like to think that because I ride a motorcycle with a modicum of respect for other vehicles, the same is true of all other motorcyclists, but this simply isn't so. I wouldn't expect a trike to be any different.

Trikes can't corner as well and he probably thought a biker would give him the opportunity that the cagers won't. Doesn't justify it.

Trikes are BAD NEWS!
When are people going to learn? 3 LEGS are the most stable, 3 WHEELS are just asking for trouble. When was the last time ANY manufacturer sold a 3-wheeled ATV? They have been outlawed because they're DANGEROUS! Remember tricycles?
The CanAm is just a tricycle turned backwards, as are their riders. If the vehicle has to turn itself off because you have exceeded a certain lean angle, that should tell you something. You probably don't belong on anything open! (convertibles included) STAY in your (chose your favorite) and REMEMBER, I AM HERE! Three wheels are for people who are afraid of LEANING! |

I've never rode a Can-Am, but a fellow who has told me that the handling is similar to a quad ATV. That might be okay for riding on a bumpy dirt trail, but I don't think it would be so much fun on a highway.

The tadpole set up is very stable platform, I'm sure you have seen what the raptor can do. The cam-am makes a pretty cool roadster. (Notice I didn't bike because it is not a bike) It is top heavy and according to reviews rides like turd when you push it because of the weight. I hold out hope that they make one similar to the akira bike. That would lower the center of gravity making one kicking little car.
I get the HD and goldwing trikes, the guys I know that ride them used to have bikes but for one reason or another can't ride normally anymore. No excuse for riding like an ass though. Oh, and I used to ride a big red. That was a lot of fun. Didn't think it was any more dangerous than a dirt bike. |

ATC- all terrain cycle
3 Wheelers are a blast off road. Tecate, 250r, Tri-z are the best you guys are a bunch sissified corn flake eaters haha I like my off road trikes. get me the craziest looks. But I love my cycles also , especially dirt bikes. for whatever job there is a tool. For acting like a crazy - three wheelers do the trick. People who drive trikes on the road, want to ride motorcycles but are somehow unqualified. So yes you have to look out for our special needs cyclists.

There are mosquitoes in Maui? I dont know man. I have been there a few times and remember no such thing. Now, if you want to come here, then you can talk. You cannot walk outside in the summer without being swarmed.
