Almost crashed.
I was just out riding earlier down some of the country roads near my house. I was trying to get some riding in before the rain came, and I got a good hour in before I had to race home to avoid getting soaked.
Anyways I had a lapse of judgement earlier. I was riding around on some roads I had only been on a couple of times, and I turned on to a road that I though was a different road. I opened up the throttle and powered my way up this hill, and what I though was a slight turn turned out to be a rather sharp turn onto the road that I thought I was on in the first place. I was presented with two choices and not a whole lot of time to decide. I could try to make the turn, but I was going way too fast for the road surface and the turn, and I probably would have lowsided or ran wide into some not so soft looking trees, or I could do some unplanned offroading at high speed until I hit pavement. I did not know if there was a ditch or huge holes in the ground in between the roads I was about to go, but I decided that was my best option, so I hit that grass going about 65mph, and just rode out the bumpy ride, then I made a hard right once I hit pavement again. I stopped and shouted in joy, then I turned around to go down the road I was originally planning to go down. The rest of my ride was at a much slower pace, but I still enjoyed it. I'm going to draw a crude picture because I can't discribe things with words too well about what the intersection looked like.

Not on purpose. Unless I get a dual sport.

Google maps does not show the road I turned on for some reason. Which is why I turned on the wrong road in the first place.

Here is my ride from today via google maps. I live without getting specific in the little triangle just left of A&L in between C&D is where that road I turned on should be at.

You would be surprised that the bike will take turns that you think it won't. Go to a track school and learn the limits of the bike (and yourself) and you will be a much better (and safer) rider. It could save your life.

If it was smooth pavement I probably could have made the turn, but this was one of those not quite gravel, but not quite pavement, not quite sure what to call it. There was also pot holes all over the road, and loose gravel in places. I was just going way too fast for the road surface.
