2023 World Superbike Preview: Honda - Can They Start Winning Again In 2023? Traditionally, HRC don't race for fun. They race to win. They’re still some way short of that goal in WorldSBK but Steve English asks can this be the year that Honda make their long awaited stride forward?

Honda are primed for a step forward. After last year’s upheaval bringing in two rookie riders, Big Red now has a solid base for the second season of their riders Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge.

The duo, former Grand Prix riders, brought with them enthusiasm and inexperience last year. That inexperience was actually a benefit in some ways, because with a switch to a production-based bike and Pirelli tyres they had no preconceived ideas about what a Superbike should feel like. Instead, they were able to assess if changes made the bike better or worse. Some changes certainly worked last year for Honda, and with Lecuona in particular they have a rider who could be a diamond in the rough.
