Next weekend as in 22-23 or 29-30?

You can take 287 to 87 or the more scenic route 23 to Clinton rd. to 17a

Your call

Sorry I was confusing.

For the haunted ride thing I meant the weekend of the 29th since it sounds like a lot of people can't ride this Saturday.

But for this Sunday, I'd be up for a ride... But as to where I do not have any ideas

Thanks. Currently I just ride around town and parking lots practicing. I want to go on a ride but don't know if I am ready. Hope to be soon. If weather permits I hope to be out there tomorrow just riding around

Gah I just lowsided on the MSF ERC course. Low speed; full gear; no injuries; bike ok. I'll post the rest in the crash forum.

Still down to ride tomorrow.

I was actually headed toward skyline to check it out, but the traffic on rt 4 was awful so I pulled off and went to the MSF course.

So on that note, wanna do skyline?

Skyline Ride 10/23/11

Kickstands up at 9AM! Arrive early for breakfast

Start:
Oakland Diner‎
72 Ramapo Valley Road
Oakland, NJ 07436

End:
Butler NJ

This ride is a short one(google says about 50mins). But there's definitely more riding in the area, we'll just play it by ear.

So it was just me and Boosted this time. We explored the area and rode until we ran out of road(twice). Definitely some good riding.

I just crossed the 7500 mile mark, so I'm going to have do my service. Depending how long that takes I might have to sit the next few out.

It was an adventure to say the least. We'll have to do it again, minus the 3 foot wide roads, the offroading and possible motorcycle cop. Oh and less traffic would be nice too

Let see if there's any interest in these events,

NJ Tech Day?

NJ Track Day?

I was looking at http://www.tonystrackdays.com/index.cfm . For next season of course.

If anyone has other venues or knows a club we can get a discount with speak up!

Definitely interested in both, could probably host a tech day at my place (since I have a huge garage and every tool known to man in it) if there's enough interest. Just would need a week or 2 notice so that I can make sure the garage isn't full of cars that need to be worked on.

As far as track goes, I plan to hit the track next season for sure. I am eyeing up Team Promotion (http://www.teampromotion.com/). They seem to have a lot more tack days at NJMP than tony's. Prices are similar, actually cheaper if you plan to only do a few.

Bike needs some work for track prep, but I've got all winter

Is it required? No. The only reason to justify doing these two things together is really that you're already pulling things apart, why not, BUT it is more involved. Shimming the needles won't affect the butterfly valves (which is what you're synchronizing). By shimming the needles, all you're doing is raising them which means you're adding more fuel to your mixture.

Gotcha

Btw I've been meaning to ask. How satisfied are you with your aftermarket rear sets?

I'm happy with them overall. Lets start with my cons (these are really nit picky if you ask me).

First would be that with my exhaust I can't set the rear brake lever exactly where I want it, its a bit low. But again that's because the area p high mount race exhaust bends up higher than a stock or "normal mount" exhaust. It's just one of those things where I really have to push down farther with my toe to hit the rear brake, its just not right there at my toe like stock. Second, isn't really a complaint, but just know you'll lose the functionality of the rear brake light with MOST rear sets. The spring system with is use with stock rear sets won't attach. Although you can just get a pressure switch to fix all this (I haven't got around to ordering one yet).

Now the good!

I like the position, I personally think it's more comfortable. Lowered my knees down the tank a bit, so my knees no longer rest on that awkwardly placed crease on the tank. Although I'm short so I don't know if it'd get someone taller's knees down that far. You're not going to be like holy crap I need to be an acrobat to use these things, but you'll notice it first few times. Does force you to use your knees to grip the tank a little, but with stock handle bars you're not super aggressive or anything like that. No regrets getting them.

Next time we ride hop on my bike to feel the positioning. Over the winter probably going to get clip ons, then I'll be nice and aggressive

I'm sure I've missed something here, so if you have a more specific question, just ask and I'll do my best
