Fuel tank venting issue

Im having a problem with fuel flow on my ninja. The past 2 times ive filled the tank up its ran fan until just below half a tank. Ill be running great at 60 or so and then she'll lose power. Ill pull over and notice my fuel filter is empty. The first time I switched it from on to prime as well as opened up the tank. Ive left it on prime since then and it happened again. Opening that cap allowed flow. The vent line is clear and the vent hole in the cap itself seems to be clear as well. Anybody have any ideas?

Drill a few vent holes in the top of your tank

I've heard of people drilling the vent hole bigger.

I did notice that the rubber gasket on the cap is cracking. If anything that should make it vent more, but I dont know if that cap works in any kind of fancy way.

Yeah, but they do that to stop the whistle.

There was a big thread where people determined that fuel filters with specs that shouldn't have been an issue, were. Also, it has happened to me several times and I have no added fuel filter. It only happens when I am at about half a tank or lower and parked for ~15 minutes after reaching full operating temps, and then ridden off (dies a couple blocks later).
