Kawasaki has officially launched its Z250SL naked bike.

It's currently only available in Asia, however, EU-registered design sketches have raised the possibility it could be destined for Europe.

The SL, which stands for Super Lightweight, will be powered by a 250cc single-cylinder water-cooled engine that makes 28hp at 9,700rpm. The motor will be mounted in a Trellis frame running 37mm non-adjustable forks up front, and Uni-Trak rear suspension with five-way preload adjustment. It also has ten-spoke wheels and petal discs.

The bike comes with the option of an ABS unit, which Kawasaki is saying is the world's smallest, adding 2kg to the non-ABS version's 148kg wet weight.

The non-ABS version will cost 38,9 million IDR (£1983), whilst customers looking for the safety net of ABS will have to pay 44,9 million IDR (£2290).

The Z250SL can be ordered in dealers today in either black, orange, or green, with deliveries expected to take place at the end of this month.
