Braaaap!!

Yay! I just welcomed a new breed of steel horse to my stable Picked up a new to me '05 CRF230f today:

I was initially looking to get a 150f, but I couldn't find one for a decent price, and I managed to haggle this down to $1600. It's a little on the tall side- It actually feels taller than the ones I sat on in showrooms, as I'm completely on my toes in my tennis shoes rather than being on the balls of my feet- but it feels super light, so tilting it at a stand still isn't bad, and I'm sure I'll get used to it. Although, the shift lever feels really far away from the foot peg. Not sure if that's normal, or something I'll need to adjust.

I still have to pick up some body armor and goggles, and I want to change the oil and filters before I ride it much, but I'm so stoked! Sadly, between still needing gear, work, and prior obligations, it may be a few more weeks before I actually get to take it to the dirt though, so I don't really get to ride it yet, but at least I'm done vehicle shopping for a while

Oh, and while I'm posting this here, obviously I'm not actually an EX-ninjetter. I have no intention of abandoning the street. That, and I like being able to call my Ninja my big bike

Looking forward to some new adventures!

That is way too cool Tiffani. I love dirt bikes and want to get me another one at some point. Dirt bike riding is a very fun challenge that I believe will improve your riding skills.

Yes! I can't wait to actually get to ride it off the road I love how accessible everything is when you don't have fairings. I plan to get a service manual as soon as possible. Then once it stops raining so much, I'm going to put some fresh oil in there, clean the chain, and change out the filters. Eventually I want to figure out how to clean carbs, and then rejetting will be in the...... distant future

Goddamn. All these allusions of future mud and wrenching have me so giddy right now. I just have to figure out where the local OHV parks actually are, so I can do more than stare at it >_<

Jason,
I went up one on the pilot jet to a 42 and it really helped with starting, if yours is hard to start. Many other tricks, but we wouldn't want to hijack Tiff's thread. PM me if you're interested.
