Starting to feel I'll be posting a lot in this forum... so here's a Hurricane thread.

Just gonna update this one periodically to keep from making new threads, if that works for everyone

Here's a pretty great one (IMO) I got yesterday. Yep, that's full HDR, not Photoshop. (Though I do shop my pics sometimes.)

The world is not beautiful; and that, in a way, lends it a sort of beauty.

In which you get a rare glimpse of the lizard itself. No, you will never see my face (unless you meet me in person, then it can't be avoided). I am the Stig. There's nothing under there. It's all lies.

Moody Hurricane in the mist. Actually not raining, just mist droplets captured in the light.

These are some beautiful pics. Do you do photography as a hobby or are you a professional?

Thank you so much! Just as a hobby.

All these were actually on my phone camera even... I'd love to be able to take my DSLR with me when I ride, but I haven't found a tripod that's light and small enough to carry in my backpack.

Check out the GorillaPods. They're little flexible tripods, and will totally fit in a backpack. I wrap mine around railings or posts on days I remember to take it. Usually I shoot handheld, but if you're used to tripods, the gorillapods are a great option. They make a cellphone size and a DSLR size.

Hmm, I might try that! Usually I'm out in more remote places that don't have railings and such, but I'm sure I can find some sort of post at least.

I love my gorillapod! Lots of options for using it and they're little. I don't often remember to take it, but it's really useful when I do.
