2002 color change!

So, after 16 years of riding, including a '92 FZR back in '93, a '90 250 ninja, and numerous others on up to a '99 Gsxr 750 that I had for a few years...I'm back! This time on a yellow/purple ninja 250 =( Oh no!

I got bored, started messing in Microsoft paint software and came up with this new, slightly altered color scheme...which should help me feel better about my manliness. I just bought a black lower cowl of Ebay, and just need to purchase some black vinyl decals to put on the side panels. Whatcha think?

I thought I was going to be able to stomach the purple, but after a week...started looking around and total cost of the color change with new cowling and decals is $100. And I can even sell my old Cowl on ebay and recoupe 2/3 of that cost =). My wife will finally be learning how to ride after all these years. She's only 5'3" and this is the only bike other than standards/cruisers that she can fit as you all know.

BTW, not sure if I should go gloss black or matte balck as far as the decal on the side panels. Or, if they make a low or high gloss black vinyl. The Lower is going to be a nice shiny black from a 2007 ninja.

If you are going with the shiny lower front fairing, keep the look going by keeping the gloss look traveling up the side. Get whatever matches the look of the paint.

Matte/flat black would look better IMO. Remember to post up pics when you're done.

I like it. I think you need to put black on the front cowl stripe as well.

So, got it done last week...looks just like I thought it would, although I like the contour of the stripe a bit better in the computer generated version...but a minor detail really. Happy with the results. And after selling my prior lower cowl on ebay, total cost for this project was just $55 to get my manliness in check. No more purple...yay.

Looking good there! You definitely have a one of a kind look going on there.

Me thinks it is time I get off my butt and finally create a design for my ride.
