2015 Vetter Challenges
The 2015 riding season is here and there are 4 Vetter Challenges on the calendar for the 2015 season:
July 4, 2015: Hollister CA ,100 mile loop from Mike Corbin's Hollister factory. Mike plans to ride his new electric Sparrow II July 12, 2015: Mid Ohio Raceway in conjunction with the AMA Vintage Days. August last week: Wendover UT to Ouray, Colorado. A two day event. October: San Luis Obispo, to Salinas CA. http://craigvetter.com/pages/470MPG/470MPG%20Main.html I will be be definitely competing in the first 2 challenges and most likely all 4 of them. All riders are welcome to join in the rides whether they are official competitors or not. To be a competitor one must be able to either carry 4 full grocery bags within their bodywork or attached luggage carriers or actually carry the 4 loaded bags during the ride. The winner is the rider that goes the distance , maintaining pace,f or the least cost for whatever fuel is used ( gasoline, diesel, electricity, etc. ) There are also class winners for convential pump fuel, alternate fuel and electric fueled. These events attract many of the premier motorcycle hypermilers in the world; Diesel Fred Hayes, Electric Terry Hershner, Alan Smith, Craig Vetter ( and me). I've met a few of our forum members at previous Challenges ( @sendler, @choneofakind ) and it would be great to meet more of you. The Challenges are a lot of fun and as AMA Hall of Famer Craig Vetter says " you get to be part of making history". Hope to see you at a Challenge near you.
