40 miles. It actually whistled the first time I started it up. Kind of entertaining.

When mine does it next to cagers, I just look around like I'm trying to figure out where it's coming from.

I was considering the tank mod until one day while the tank was singing, I stopped for gas. When I opened the gas cap, I could hear air rushing into the tank. At that point, I decided with that good of a vacuum, I wasn't going to make any mechanical changes to the tank.

You think that is entertaining, just wait until you have your first backfire!

You will have one when you least expect it.

It's true! I've seen it myself first hand.
Now a real sight to behold is a group of new gen's singing in unison.
Brings a tear to my eye *sniffle*.

Since all you good folks mentioned it, I am sure that my Ninjette also whistles---I have never heard it--don`t hear a lot of things these days. Getting old is a bitch! I did meet a 23 year old riding a GREEN FAST Ninjette, When I took off my helmet and he saw the gray hair and beard, he was quite surprised. We did some twisties for about 45 minutes and had a blast. We had some coffee at the restaurant on top of the hill and he was still perplexed why a 68 year old would buy a sportbike. The answer came to me out of the sky. "Because he can"

I was genuinely surprised at just how loud the whistling is when I first heard it on a friends new 250.
Always figured it would be a quiet sound before.

Isn't that great? I went to get my Ninja inspected last year and all the kids in the shop dropped everything to circle around it and check it out. When I took my helmet off and they saw it was being ridden by an old greybeard, they did the funniest double-take I've ever seen. They didn't know weather to look at the bike or wonder what an old codger was doing on it at that point.
