Jonathan you stop this nonsense right now and go to your room.

But seriously, seems like a rash and quick decision made over some dump people that aren't worth it. I hope that you keep both of these bikes and continue racing.

Just read the other thread. I agree with Jonathan. People treat small cc class like a joke and don't realize people care about it

Totally true. Those big bike guys can't get their heads far enough out of their ass to realize a bike is a bike and just because our engines have less cc's doesn't mean we aren't just as passionate as they are.

indietrucks said it perfectly; 250 class is the second largest next to middleweight. so why do all of the "odd bikes out" try to get shoved in 250 class? why don't they make an unlimited lightweight class? formula rules up to 300 or 150 2 stroke. they say they "just want to have fun racing", so start them behind the ULWS race. they get their own positions and don't effect positions for ULWS. plus CVMA gets to create another class that they can sell entry to. everybody is happy.

What you just described should be the definition of the ultra lightweight shootout. Notice that in every other shootout, they're formula rules limited by displacement only.

Nobody is shoving stuff in, we're the ones pushing bikes back out because we're afraid they'll intrude on our fun time. Think the Ducati 848 belongs in middleweight? How about the Triumph 675 or Kawi 636? You could argue not, but the racers realize that its 90% skill to get a bike around the track at race pace, so the power of the bike is fairly irrelevant except for the front-runners.

We already have 250SS, nobody's touching that until it stops being a huge grid. There's no reason not to give other small displacement bikes the chance to play. I mean... does the ULW Shootout championship REALLY mean that much to everyone???

Stop clouding my thread!

Look, I already addressed this by suggesting in that other thread. ULWS should be Formula & with displacement restrictions (300 and 125 RS allowed).

The problem isn't so much the bikes IF the club updated their rulebook. People use the rulebook for reference. Saying that "we covered this in the rider's meeting" is BULLSHIT! Some people may not have been able to make it to the rider's meeting and/or what not. If a change is mentioned in the meeting, update the rule book! Is that so hard? Instead one official/representative says one thing but the track official says another. WTF? Then one/two representative encourage an illegal bike to come out and race and if he/she gets protest (pre-race protest allowed) then so be it. You're basically screwing both racers. Get your act straight.

Run by racers for racers? Really? Then why so many problems? You should have foreseen all these issues way ahead of time during your years of racing. Last minute preparations even after so many have inquired about such & such is becoming ridiculous. It's one thing after another. It's really becoming cumbersome. First year didn't go so well. 2nd year...you would think you'd get your act together.

And just because one feels different about racing doesn't mean their voice shouldn't be dismissed, nor feel they need to conform to one's eloquent post.

Look guys, in no way am I trying to influence you in any way. If I came off as being "God-like" and/or if you feel you owe anything...well, I'm sorry if that's the perception I portrayed...cuz you don't, cuz I'm not. You just needed a little push and that's all I did. I'm no one. Continue racing and have fun out there.

But for pete's sakes stop clouding my thread.

BTW, as for "does winning the ULWS mean that much to everyone"...REALLY? Don't get me started.

Nem,

Don't sell the green one. Just wait and let things cool down. I'd really be if you left 250 racing as its starting to really pick up.

^^This.

Jon, I can't argue a single point that you've made about cvma or otherwise, but.... the October round is only 2 weeks away. Why not just hold off selling for a bit longer, come out at least this one last time, and let us remind you why it is we really do this. Even if your mind isn't changed, at least let us send you off in person

^^Oh, and also this.

Willow is still fun, has moar tracks to ride plus CCW configurations, is closer, and has facilities and stuff (even if oddly no showers )

Or, to avoid dying of violent withdrawal from quitting cold turkey, you can just keep your bike and even if you don't race a dedicated season, just do random, just for fun, one-off WERA and AFM races. Just imagine ninjette does Vegas
