oh man, you should have reminded me you were having possible radiator issues... I had a newgen radiator that I could have sent to you for free from when I was doing my engine swap!

Sorry about forgetting about your project here, Rebecca...

I've seen globs of gloggy goop in cooling systems before, even without stop-leak. My Plymouth Voyager's heater quit working, and when I reverse flushed that line a bunch of grey glop came out.

But that would have required me to do more actual work on the bike

Did some tap-water or non-distilled water find its way in somehow?

What coolant did you use? The Dexcool stuff will coagulate into jello with just air in system. GM faced couple $100-million+ in lawsuits over that stuff.

Put engine ice in early on and used it since. Replaced a few times since I've had it. Flushed with distilled water previously. Dealing with the grey goo recently made me give up on the distilled cuz I needed way too much water to flush it out.

I made the mistake of selecting Dexcool last spring. I haven't decided whether to change my coolant every season until it's gone ofrsimply flush my entire system this spring and install a different coolant. I'll probably do the later.

If you change, flush thoroughly. The interaction doesn't play nice, from what I read.

Thanks Chris, I read that before. The coolant that originally came out (O.E.M.) was clear clean with no sediment. I doubt that in 10 months too much has gone wrong. I do plan to flush a few times with distilled water though.

Thanks again,

Bill

Due to sudden loss of most of the plastics and lack of desire to replace them yet again, I guess I'm gonna go the naked rat bike route

It's not a creative as Tesla's "rapid unscheduled disassembly" but it still works
