[visordown.com] - Honda MSX125 and Forza recalled for fuel pump issue
HONDA US is recalling its MSX125 and Forza scooter for a fuel pump issue that could cause the bike to stall at speed. The report says that a resin bracket inside the pump swells and interferes with the impeller, causing the pump to stop working properly. Speaking of the safety risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said: ‘While parked, this can prevent the engine from starting. While riding, particles may become stuck between the bracket and the impeller causing the engine to stall and possibly not re-start. A stalling engine will increase the risk of a crash.’ Recalled bikes include 2014 MSX125s manufactured between 12 June, 2013 to 24 September, 2014 and Forza NSS300 scooters built between 18 June, 2013 and 21 May 2014. Honda will notify owners and dealers will replace the fuel pump with an updated fuel pump, free of charge. Visordown is waiting on Honda UK to clarify if the recall affects UK registered bikes.
