Should they be specified to only women.. No
Do they suggest that women suck as drivers.. That inclination can be thought as true (some men suck at driving too)
Should all spaces be made to this additional width.. Yes, I can't stand parking next to people who park slanted and take up 3 spaces
Will people still suck at parking in this extra space.. Yes, People suck in general lol

My 2 cents: Parking shouldn't be made sexist. Does most companies, equal sex opportunities, even have a 30% workforce to fill those extra spaces? Women and most feminist, not the crazy ones, fight for equality does this mean that now 30% needs to go to men, 30% to transgenders and 10% to Jenner?

*twitch*

If women were feeling vulnerable to a perceived/actual risk of attack due to close parking or unlit areas, then the solution is wider spaces and better lights throughout the parking lot vs just an area specifically for women.

The rest of that BS? There is no reason women should get better spots (I'm sure everyone can agree wider spots are better than the narrow door bang spot) just as there is no reason to give men the difficult spot. Make them all wide enough to accomodate a slightly larger than average vehicle with room to easily enter and exit and move between cars and all users will be happy and safe.

Now, if you want to argue for wider spots for families or larger shopping trips where you need the doors wide open for longer periods, totally agree! Complement those with narrow up front parking for the quick trip by one person to get in and out with no hassle.

But that's just me.

I pick corner spots far far far away from entrances of malls and shopping centers. My car (a 90s car) still looks like it can run with cars that are 2-3 years old.

I call bullcrap. What happened to equality? I can see special spots for expecting mothers or the elderly or the handicapped (who all may or may not have trouble getting around), but to have special spots available made for people who have vaginas instead of penises? I'm sorry....if they made spots like that here, I'll pull in 1/2 way. I'll then get out of the driver's seat and have my wife get out of the passenger seat. We'll switch and she'll pull into the spot. Accomplishes nothing.

I don't know about this in Germany, but when I was in Thailand I noticed they had something called "Lady Parking" which was usually on the 1st or 2nd floor of the parking garage with pink paint everywhere and an attendant in the area. Parking lots also had a designated section (also pink) for this. If there was an adult male in the car, even as a passenger, they were not allowed to park there. The parking sizes seemed to be average size and the reason for these designated areas were for women to be safer. There were a lot of incidents where a woman traveling alone or with children was attacked or harassed so they implemented this in a lot of areas over there.
Sexist? Yes. But sadly, in some cultures, men feel more entitled and are less respectful. I don't think it is fair, but I do see the need.

In Germany however, the difference in size of the parking space does have some implications that I don't think are right and it seems like the reason for this floor is different than in Thailand. If this is the reason they are creating the parking area for women it is absurd. To take away parking spaces for men due to a stereotype can't be justified. Also, there are plenty of men out there who can't park either! No offense guys

If the area is so unsafe that women are in danger and need special parking spots, that aren't the men also in danger (perhaps to a less extent, but still) and therefore security for the entire area needs revamping.

As for any other reason, I've seen both good and bad drivers of both genders; I don't see the point in singling out bad women drivers versus the males who can't park either.

The women spaces only mean a man cannot park there, but a woman can park at any space she just has the luxury of having a reserved spot for her gender...
I see that it is implying women can't drive which is wrong. But if anything this seems sexist towards men. If every spot is taken but the "women spots" then I gotta find a different parking lot to park? Hmm...
