Damn! Nice.

I wish I had the know-how to do a project like this.

...and some new pictures as promised. Finished the install and gave it wash. The headlight is from HD Nightrod.

Know-how, time, and money are three different things. Time and money are the only legitimate reasons for not doing a project. Almost everything I did was super simple, and I don't have a mechanical background. I taught myself as I went, got a lot of help from some model specific forums, and was patient.

If you come across an old barn-find, please jump on it. You won't regret it.

Great job. I like the grey and black and wouldn't change a thing, unless you decide to add some carbon fiber (exhaust, fender, etc). I would love to do a project bike one of these days.

This bike looks even more gorgeous now! Wow! I really don't like the old headlight you had but this new one looks soooo much better IMO.

Thanks man, I agree. The old headlight looked good in some angles, and bad/awkward in others. The HD headlight just looks good from all angles. Has a nice classic cafe feel with a splash of modern.

Next up I will be installing a Trailtech Vapor to replace the old dash cluster. Should have it done by this weekend.

This basically sums up what I think every time I see this thread haha. I love the simple styling of the older monsters, not to big of a fan of the newer ones though...

I got the Trailtech Vapor installed this afternoon. Really happy with it. Has a few extra features like a temp gauge, clock, stop watch, shift lights, etc.

Oh man you are so right. I've been keeping my eye out for an affordable used seat cowl but haven't found one yet. Definitely on the list.

Thanks for the compliment!

I agree on the headlight. Where'd you end up getting it and what did it cost? I wouldn't mind getting one for my Hawk.

I picked it up used from a Ducati Monster forum member that had posted it for sale. I ended up trading my old headlight for this one, but he originally wanted $150 for it. Seems like you can get them for a reasonable price off ebay.

Thanks man. Appreciate the kind words.

Done with painting the tank and fender. Might get a seat cowl and paint it to match. Someday want to paint the triple trees and front forks black but that is about it.
