I have yet for it to come on naturally or with the front brake, but I've forced it on the rear brake. It feels a bit like it's cutting in and out. The brake lever pulses a bit, but I didn't feel any pogo'ing or noticeable changes in how the bike feels otherwise.

Once my tires are a bit more scrubbed in and I'm more comfortable on the bike, I'll try and grab the front and hope for the best...

I got my "optional" damper in the other day and got it installed!

If anyone is interested, I did a quick 'how to' video on the installation since it's mounted a tad differently than previous models.

Thanks. I like the red caps on the black models. They look HIDEOUS on the green though. I plan to add a bit more red accents here and there to hopefully balance it out. Just wish the damper came in better colors.....

Ever thought about having some other pieces (like the damper) anodized, or powder coated the same color?

Yeah, but from what I've heard, red is fairly difficult to anodize. Most of the time, it seems to come out pink.

I wish Kawi made the decal accents red instead of white/silver. It doesn't look bad, but I'm a big fan of black with red accents.

All in all, I wanted a white one :P

Congrats sir, this bike is absolutely gorgeous. Sometime within the next two years I would like to have a 636. Did you ever consider the 2006 636 as a used option?

Thanks the honeymoon is over and I'm still in love.

I did not. My motorcycle is my only mode of transportation (other than public transport.. yuck) so I needed something reliable that I could trust. Used supersports (motorcycles in general) are notorious for being abused and not taken care of properly. That's a gamble I didn't want to take.

Not to mention the HUGE improvements Kawi added to the 2013! ABS, traction control, showa separate function forks, and an (imo) improved engine design... not to mention the old gen 636 were hideous

*Drools* I've been eying that Graves Slip-on since it came out. It sounds incredible in videos, how does it compare in person?

LOOUUUUDDDDD! Had to order a silencer because it was physically hurting my ears after a while.

Other than volume, it sounds absolutely amazing. I recorded a video review of it today that will go live on my Youtube channel Monday. I'll be sure to post it here once it's live!

LOL, damn that kinda what I was dreading. Did the silencer make a difference? I want the amazing sound without it being a cop magnet/obnoxious. Last thing I need is more unwanted attention (Lime green sportbike draws enough attention as it is)

Sadly, my silencer won't be in until late next week, but I've got it on good authority that it will help a lot. It will always be loud being a shorty pipe, but I believe Graves lists it as being about 10dB (A LOT) quieter with the insert.

You'll definitely get a ton of unwanted attention with this thing un-silenced... both by cops and angry neighbors/pedestrians. I've been pushing the bike out of my apartment's parking lot at night before going to work...

Sorry for such a late reply, been fairly busy.

Silencer did a good job of lowering overall volume while maintaining dat sexy tone....

HOWEVER.. it didn't do a good job staying on the exhaust. Even with blue loctite and a solid amount of torquing the bolt, it still worked it's way loose and ditched the silencer somewhere.. pretty annoying. I'm considering it a design flaw because I'm not sure what else I could have done to prevent it from coming loose like that. Instructions didn't even mention using any form of loctite (doubt that would have caused the problem)

This was a follow up reply to @Redgeneral

Thanks Nathan, as per my other thread, I'm going to be looking into a graves exhaust as well. Glad to hear the silencer helped....even if it was just for a short time.

Suprisingly it is considerably cheaper than I thought it would be. Its only $15 a month for full coverage and $500 deductible. I am insured through american family insurance.

Hey Nathan, any updates on the bike? Cold starting issue still happening, any other issues? Curious as I've been looking at one at my dealer.

Don't shy away from buying one. I think that some make it sound like a bigger issue than it is. I've been following some threads at zx6.com and looking at some of the issues people are having. I have had none of the issues listed. Now, I do have my idle set at 1400 rpm, but I have never had the cold start issue, and I ride in nearly all weather conditions.

Thanks. My honda has no idle adjustment and that idles at 1500 so 1400 isn't excessive.

I've never managed to trigger the abs on the front but I have triggered it on the rear a few times just by being a bit too jumpy with my right foot. basically it feels like it would on a car except the pulsing is a lot lighter. I've heard that the honda abs is almost unnoticeable when it kicks in which I wouldn't like, I prefer to know when my bike is saving my stupid ass than not to.

Still going strong! No issues. Once I replaced the exhaust, it cold started a bit better but I found the trick was in the idle adjustment. Weirdly enough, it was when my idle was set a bit too high that it died the most. I opted for a bit under 1,100 and haven't had any issues since.

My only real regret is changing the exhaust kinda. The stock one really does sound good when you open it up... my Graves is just a bit too loud and over the top. I'm hoping to fabricate a better silencer once I get some time.

As for ABS, I tried forcing it on the front once, but it just stopped without it kicking on (great brakes)... I didn't have the balls to grab it any harder. Traction control has come on a few times due to road surfaces but I'd say it only saved me once out of about 4,000 miles making it worth having in my eyes.

I'm still in love with the bike. It's my only vehicle so after a week of riding to and from work in power mode L, it still scares the living daylights out of me to throw it in full power and WOT. It's hasn't lost that thrill yet. I really miss my 250 to death due to speed limits, but otherwise I'd always go for my zx.
