Just noticed a slight issue with my tail light, need some advice.
Hi there so today was the first day that I have ever ridden the ninja in the rain. Its quite fun but as I got to work I noticed an issue with the rear tail light.
Now I did install an aftermarket tail: http://www.motodynamic.com/product_i...roducts_id=227 its perfect and it is wired well so that the wires are protected from water. The issue I have is simply this: the tail light when the bike was wet today with the key in the on position had the light turn on and zero flicker, i than applied pressure on front break and the tail light went on as it should to display that I am breaking and it functioned fine, when I proceeded to do the same thing via the rear break the light did what it should and than stopped, however a few seconds later it proceeded to flicker as though i am applying and releasing pressure though I am doing nothing. I turn the bike off make sure there is zero pressure of any sort on both breaks and turn it back on, same thing... light is fine with nothing being done and works perfect with front break, than again with back and it does the same thing.... Though that can be resolved by simply using front only and being careful the issue occurs when the motor is on and im assuming that because of the vibration in the bike any light movement of the rear break is actuating that light. Its not an issue with wiring because everything in the rear was literally bone dry when i opened it up away from the rain and in an enclosed area, all cables are tight and in no way loose, I would greatly appreciate any sort of feedback so I can look into this further. Also, side note this issue only occurred today and only in wet condition i.e. raining. The moment it dried up one hour later the issue has completely gone away and the rear tail light functions as intended. Here is a video if it should help: http://www.youtube.com/embed/8xkpZ-V...6ArW18pk87SzUg |

edit: also, all things are perfect now and i've adjusted the rear break so it wont be so sensitive to the tail light it was way sensitive to the point where it should show im breaking with no real pressure put on the plate. so thats taken care of now hopefully nexttime it rains we will find out and the issues resolved. |

by alert function, he just means the "flicker" as you called it. That can be turned on and off on most of the aftermarket LED lights that have that feature.
glad to see you're all fixed, I had the same issue with my bike when I initially installed my light. |
