key alternatives?

hello folks.

the ignition on my fzr is retarded noisey. it drives me insane even with earplugs. sometimes it bugs me so much i'll hold a finger on it so it stops vibrating... i've thought about simply replacing it but i figured why not go all out, right? i'm wondering if anyone knows of any alternatives? i've seen people put hard switches under their locked tail, but i'm wondering about the steering lock... maybe a solenoid? what do you guys think? i have electronics available to make a keyless system but i still have issues like the steering lock. the one thing that scares me about an electronic steering lock is what happens if those electronics fail... i guess it wouldn't engage until you went full lock? i suppose i could have an extra lead when the bike is on to keep the solenoid open?

looking for suggestions here... also i don't have a locking tail on my fzr. i don't care if your suggestion is ninja 250 only, or any other bike... these types of things are usually easily adapted

thanks people.

It's a 20 year old bike. Zip-tie to hold it in place a bit better + better earplugs = call it a day.

Insulate the vibrating parts with duct tape, THEN zip tie it.

Just out of curiosity, what drove you to buy such a old buy? Is it rare in a good way?

Price and timing.
it's not rare... i guess it's getting more rare now a days just because they aren't produced anymore and are crashed or left to rust more and more... but i wouldn't call it rare in any sense.
I wanted to restore a bike. It was there waiting to be restored. plus i wanted a 600 but didn't want to buy new for fear of mistreating a baby bike. for the money i've got into it, i'm not worried about trashing that bike or having it stolen. not to say i'm not worried about crashing... that **** hurts... and i doubt someone would steal it, it doesn't exactly look like a million bucks....... yet...
biggest reason was for parts... originally i planned on making a new frame for it, but some other things have sapped up most of my time so i haven't gotten around to that.
