Length of a ninja 250?

I'm looking into getting a new (used) truck. Does anyone know how long from front tire, to rear the pregens are? Truck I'm looking @ has a 6ft bed, dunno if it'll be long enough.

Overall lengths are 78-82 inches (newgens being longer). I think you're '06 falls under 80 inches.

Shouldn't you get a truck long enough to fit either of your bikes?

This is true, but I have a trailer as well, so If I need to haul the bigger bike, chances are I'd need to haul my fathers as well, so we'll use the trailer. PLUS I wouldn't want to try to load a 600lb pick in the back of a truck Its gonna be mostly for if my gf and I want to haul our 250's somewhere then ride.

I bought a hitch for my car and a small trailer for the same purpose. Should be cheaper than a truck.

Yea! Next time you're up this way let me know! I also need a 4x4 for the winter driving, and to haul my SxS so I need a truck. If I was just hauling bike I would get a hitch for my car. I currently drive a Blazer, but its not 4wd.

Maybe he doesn't want to register and inspect a trailer, or weld a hitch to his cage and just wants to throw it into the back of a pick-up...? Just sayin'...

I'll be wrenching mine tonite, and if I don't see an answer to your question by then, I'll grab my tape measure and provide you with one.

Thanks! Actually in TN, trailers dont have to be registered or inspected I wouldn't mind having a hitch on my car, but its a little 4 banger so wouldnt be able to pull too much.

Man, I live in the wrong state. LOL. Guess that's why they call it the Vampire State now, instead of the Empire State. I'm surprised they don't have toll booths at crosswalks, but I wouldn't want to give them any ideas....

Same here on the 4 banger. I'm lucky it can haul my @$$ let alone my @$$ + bike and trailer. The kid that I bought it from delivered it to me in a pickup, but I was too starry-eyed looking at my new baby to pay much attention to the truck. It was an extended or king cab, and think it might have had a 6' bed, and she fit. But I'll get some exact numbers for ya once I get out of work.

I believe the length was already answered and my hitch was a "bolt on"

Is the actual length about 10% more, like the weight?

Did you happen to notice the weight on that link, Alex? 304 lbs. Hmmm, I remember having a discussion with you about that recently... LOL

Exactly. That's the dry weight listing in the specs that has no basis in reality.

Well, considering no one uses stock rubbers, then that 10% variance may also apply to the length as well. LOL

LOL

Ahh, but are they "stock", or special order? A little wider for better grip in the twisties?

I'll still try to get that measurement, that way you have some numbers that are based in reality.

Mine's 81" from tire to tire. Might be able to angle it into a 6' bed...

My Toyota Tacoma has a 6' bed. The Ninja 250 fits in it, but only with the tailgate down. Both wheels are sitting on the bed but the rear extends too far for the tailgate to latch.
