Inverted Forks on a ninjette?

I've seen pics of ninja 250rs with inverted forks but did a google search and couldn't come up with any information on how its done, whats required etc.

Can I fit a ZX6 fork and tripple into a 250r? Maybe a KLX250? The pics I've seen feature gsxr 600 forks on the 250. Not sure if the tripple clamp had to be replaced, but I'm almost certain they have to be.

FYI, I want inverted forks for looks more than anything else.

The one I saw had a complete R6 front end put on to it. I think just about everything needs to be replaced (forks/triples/axle/brakes/wheel/etc), and the steering head on our frame may need to be remachined as well. Check out the Post Your Favorite Pic thread, there is a red machine I believe from Malaysia that had this done.

If you can find the size of the stock steering stem bearings you can use this link to maybe find something that could work.

I did it with a gsxr front end. All gsxrs use the same steerer tube. All I had to do was swap the lower bearing race. Your fairings won't fit...gotta go naked or go race glass or something.

I was hoping there'd be more of a straight swap solution but I guess thats not possible .

Has anyone tried to take the inverted forks of something of similar size/power like a hyosung 250 or a Kawasaki dirt bike? Maybe those would be small enough that you could keep the standard fairings (I'm assuming that the gsxr forks mandated the fairings to be taken off because the forks are too big)?

I remember there being a thread about Indonesian 250 riders and one of them had a pretty awesome fork swap. Any idea if those guys are on the forum?

well, depends what you want. you *could* keep the fairings, but you would need riser clip-ons, and the tire hits the bottom part of the fairing, so you'd need to cut that back. also, the fork tubes hit the radiator mounts, so your turning radius will suffer.

1)are you referring to the bearing race that is pressed into the stem or the one pressed into the frame?

i assume it's the one in the stem, and then use the same 250 ball bearings?

awesome job on that fork swap!

What about the Aprilia Rs 125 or 250 front system?

I'm glad someone revived this thread

What kind for forks are these?

That picture looks like a 250 with inverted forks and stock fairings. I think it may even have clipons but I'm not sure.

I've seen a few pics of 250s with inverted forks and the front fender always has that bloody michillen tire guy on it. Does anyone recognize what those forks came off of?

Better yet, can anyone translate the page that this pic came off of? It seems like theres some sort of explination as to what the owner of the bike has done to make it look like that:

looks like the same gsxr forks i was asking blong about. i have all the parts ready for the swap as soon as i get some free time. they apparently bolt on easily but aren't perfect. i think they will have some clearance/offset issues which won't matter because my bike is going naked.

check ebay or craigslist. the gsxrs have used essentially the same tripletree and forks for a decade. you should be able to find a good deal.

You can have a set of Triples, both top and bottom machined using the fork spacing of the stock 250R, but have them machined to fit the larger diameter of the inverted forks. If you can get the spacing right, and find a set that uses the same diameter front axle, you could then use the stock front wheel and speedo assembly of the 250R
