2011 Zero S electric motorcycle for sale - $3700 obo/trade

As the title says!

I have a red/black 2011 Zero S electric motorcycle for sale. It is in great shape overall, never been dropped, but slight marks here and there from normal use. It has a clean title, just passed 5k miles, up to date registration (just paid), lots of tire and brake pad left. I average about 26-30 miles per charge, and at about $0.50 per charge, thats not freakin bad. Plugs into any normal 110 outlet with a standard computer-style power cord. Located in Los Angeles south bay area. PM me or email me at steven.b.dawson@gmail.com. Thanks!

Asking $3700 but I am open to offers and trades!
I'm looking for a 250cc or up 4-stroke street-legal dirtbike like a KLX250, TTR250 etc...

Its slower than a ninja 250... but its pretty sweet to never buy gas, and also scare the living **** out of bicylists by gliding up behind them.

I smell something funny....these are $28,000 dollar bikes....well, $25,000 after the green tax credit. Even the 2010's are going for $9K used. Are the batteries shot?

If its good, then this is a heck of a deal on one. I wonder if you can get the tax credit on a used bike purchase....if so...its pretty much free.

$28,000??!?!?!?! where the heck did you pull that from?

From the Zero Motorcycles website: MSRP $9,995
http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/zero-s/2011/order.php

No the batteries are not shot, the bike has no problems, and if you don't believe me come take a test ride!

Whoops...my bad.
Been a while since I looked at them, last time I looked at them they were in the $28K range for the DS's. Well, that's good that they've come down in price.

At any rate...$3500 is a great deal if electrics are your thing.

I've only ridden the bigger of the bikes, how does this one do on getting up to highway speeds and is the throttle response laggy?

It's slower than a 250, unfortunately. Throttle response is instant, but the torque is gimped from 0-20 mph so that noobs don't hurt themselves. It tops out at 70ish mph, but has no problem getting there.

GLWS, I keep thinking it would be very cool to have an electric bike like that, but no real practical purpose for me. It would be cool for short jaunts not to have to warm up the bike and such though.

This is true, a nice lack of worrying in the winter I would think. I hate to get up and go in the winter when I'm late for school. Scares me I hurt the bike ever so little. I am near Waco but for now it's just a purchase under consideration.

Hahaha...the Zero's have never been anywhere near that.

There's a 2011 on BARF right now for $5k. This is a good deal.

I came across this thread while researching what I should sell my 2010 Zero S for... I am in NorCal (just South of SF). Bike has 3500 miles and everything on it works just fine. If interested please contact me.

My new job is now 30 miles from home, wish I had one of these lol. Can charge overnight and while at the office. BAM, no gas needed.

They run pretty cheap these days it seems. If I didn't work from home I'd be inclined to keep the one I have!
