Spring has sprung, and the hearts and minds of motorcyclists nationwide have turned to… MotoGP! They’ve already had three rounds of the international series (two in Qatar and one in Portugal), and it’s been flag-to-flag excitement in all Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP. In MotoGP, just 23 points separate the top five in the standings, and the season has 18 rounds left!

Although the U.S. round has been postponed, there’s still hope for the best racers that the world has to offer will turn up in Austin, Texas, for the USGP at the Circuit of the Americas in November-ish. Let’s take a look at past USGPs, shall we?



Suzuki’s Alex Rins, you’ll recall, won the last USGP in 2019 (Rossi 2nd!), after Marc Marquez fell out of a big lead on the factory Honda. Then fell again trying to pick it up. Then a third time.

From the inaugural Texas round in 2013, all the way through 2018, though, Marquez was unstoppable at Circuit of the Americas, winning all five of those MotoGPs. In 2021, if Austin happens, it will be at the end of the season, and if MM93 makes good in his comeback bid, it will be a thrilling thing to see from what’s a pretty good spectator’s track, capable of packing in 120,000 fans.



Away from the track, Austin’s a great getaway destination all by itself, with some of the best barbecue and beer, music, lake swimming, bat watching, and country-accented nightlife in the country. And let’s not forget the riding options in the Texas Hill Country.
