i wont write it off completely, i've taken my scoop off since my bike is a mess from the fall, and i can get it taken to the post to get a price to send it to the US, so that we at least have an idea of what it costs to post it. so maybe just the four of you will be getting the part.

Maybe it's time to invite other forums (Kawiforums, NewNinja, Ninja250.org, etc)? We should tell them to register here to join in.

@ Bruce, next week once i get work sorted out (need to catch up after staying home for a week) ill look into the shipping. ill get an estimate shipping price by using my Koso cluster which popped out during my accident to get an idea of the cost.

we have the carburetor models here too (NOT EFI) so we have the same type of bikes. whats nice with this plug & play kit is that you only need to pull one wire from the battery, and the rest is all just P&P.

since my bike is so conveniently sitting there naked and broken ive taken pictures to show the wiring~

@kawac, ill look into the shipping cost to indianapolis~ whats the post code? it would help me get a more precise shipping cost

the shop price for the Koso P&P kit, with custom bracket, volt meter, sensors, etc. is $350 (3.000.000 IDR Indonesian Rupees) due to the fluctuating exchange im just giving a rounded number. when and if someone wants to buy one, ill be double checking the exchange rate, and also ask for a little extra to cover the money lost due to the lower exchange that i get through paypal & the credit card.

im back at work again today. once i get on top of everything here ill start putting a little time aside to find out possible shipping prices. i might have an alternative solution to help out, but that's still a maybe~

my girlfriend is heading over to Vegas mid of next month, and i might be able to get her to bring parts over that we can fit in her suitcase. then it would only need to be shipped nationally over there, nice and cheap. the limiting factor will be the space available in her suitcase.

if i do that, ive already asked Charlie (sarapacman99) if he can be responsible for the redistribution of the stuff over there, since my girl wont have time to do it while shes there, and he's agreed to help out.

what ill do is prioritize the items of the people that requested first (as per the list). whatever she cant carry in the suitcase will have be be shipped from here, as per the original plan.

cheers,
W.

that's the flush mount still in the package.

selling price is 200.000 Rp (roughly $23.50)

on a bike it looks like this:

same pic as on page 1, but saves you flicking back a page,

No problem Wayan. I was just interested in any of the clip ons that might come in blue, but no need to go out of your way to find them. Thanks for providing us with this service and I'm glad you didn't suffer major injuries during your down.

ah, i asked about blue clipons, sadly they don't have any. they only have silver and black, and at the moment only black is in stock.

although if you really really really want them in blue i could get them powder coated for you

although it wont be easy to get the right BLUE color hehe and it would cost some $$

No worries bro. I don't think powdercoating them would be a good idea since it adds to the thickness and would probably make it really difficult to put handles on them. I used to do powder coating myself. I'm sure it's why they anodize the bars instead of powder coating them.

true that about the PC being thick and possibly causing issues with the various parts to fit. well you currently have an option of black or black, hehehe

im buying me a set of black KTC clipons. went through the hassle of removing the end bar weights on the stock handlebars yesterday, they are tough little critters to get out!

anyhow another addition to the list~

1: sarapacman99 - White Air scoop - Las Vegas
2: Lvr - Black Air scoop - NY?
3: bob706 - Black Air scoop - Florida?
4: blade - Green Air scoop - NY?
5: kawac - Black Air Scoop - Indianapolis

I'm not sure. Usually I just try to find lights that have DOT Approved stamped on them.

i dont think cops know how to rate something that's DOT or not DOT approved all i care about is if it works and saves me from a vehicle who wouldn't have seen me if it weren't for the turn signals

It's really not the cops that I'm concerned about, it's the annual safety check. If lights don't match DOT specs, you don't pass. Some people think it's worth it to just swap out the lights for the safety check and then swap it back. I'm too lazy to do that once a year.

the dood stopped selling them, he said that there were some issues with the cabling. he has a second hand one in good condition (i haven't seen it myself yet though) hes selling it for 450.000 Rp (uh... like $53) if you replace the wires with better ones they would probably work fine. but~ its at your own risk

im going there in a couple days to pick up my clipons and borrow his OEM foot rest while i wait for mine to come in from the Kawasaki dealer. i can have a look at them and give you my opinion on their condition if you are interested.

im hoping to get my bike up to a driving state asap so i can test her our and see if there is any noticeable body misalignment while driving.

----------------------------------------

@ Matt, the price with DHL you mentioned, that's like a JUMBO JUNOIR box (10Kg or less & the box is 41 x 34 x 25 cm) the price i have from them is $186. is that the one your thinking of? there is also a bigger one, the Jumbo box, 20Kg or less, costs $287 though. the box is like double the size.

come to think of it, im using a jumbo junior box as a foot rest atm lol...

i just brought those parts with me cos i went to the post office to get shipping costs, but they were friken closed!!

i called them though and got an estimate cost of shipping to America (hawaii included) by EMS express Post it costs $35 for the first Kg, then over 1 Kg, each additional kilo costs $25

to Canada the 1st kilo is $41, every additional Kg after that costs an additional $23.

what matt said is true, better use a DHL package to ship if there is enough stuff, since its possible to send up to 10 kilos in the parcel (it can be as cheap as $18.6 per kilo) but it could also cost more if we dont sent enough. the problem is that it only goes to one destination and then it would need to be forwarded to the rest of you guys, again costing more shipping. so it kinda depends on what we all decide to do. this is something i suggested in the begenning

ill go weigh the parts later today to give you guys an idea of what it weighs. so we can come up with some rough numbers for the shipping cost.

W.

PS. there is still the option of cramming my girlfriends suitcase full of parts and ask her to give it to Charlie in Vegas, and then have him ship it out to the rest of you. the only thing that id be paranoid about and can think of that might go wrong is... Missing Suitcase...

shes leaving in like 2 and a half weeks. at the rate we are going it would probably be just as fast to give it to her, lol

nope, its still open and more are welcome to join at this point. still nothing definite. i haven't asked for money from anyone yet. im just going along at a slow pace giving you guys stuff to choose from and an idea of shipping costs, etc. anyone can join or pull out still at this point

also, anyone that wants me to buy a part and ship it individually can do so as well. i can get the item within a couple days and get it shipped out. you would probably get it within 2 weeks from the time of payment. already doing that for a couple members here so far.

went and weighed the air scoop and the Koso kit

obviously consider that there is still packing weight on top of the actual item weight, would defeat the whole purpose of sending something as light as possible (with crappy packing) and having it arrive there broken

anyhow, here is the weight:

231 grams this is a nice and light package. it would be better to pack several of them into one package since it would help make it a less flimsy package to ship.

the Koso RX2 with custom bracket & voltmeter is a lot heavier:

592 + 762 = 1354 grams, plus the packing, its gonna be almost 2 Kilos... even if its a little less than 2, they round it up at the post office if its over 1.5 up to 2.

so, we are looking at around $60~70 in shipping for this to america, and a little more to canada.

however after i get it packed and brought to the post office it could cost a little more or a little less, this is just an indication~ based on the price they gave me over the phone, and a guess at what the packing might end up weighing.

to ship this individually with DHL it would cost way too much. the only way to make it feasable to ship by DHL is to do a group buy and split the cost between the individuals. otherwise if its individually shipped the cheaper way is what i suggested above, using the express post EMS.

in case someone is interested i can also get just the koso gauge + custom bracket (without hole), so without voltmeter for 2.500.000 Rp (around $295). for those who might already have a voltmeter, or something else like an A/F meter that you might want to put in instead.

cheers,
W

Azeknight, The $295 price is thr price for the kit less voltmeter and cut out. Not sure what gear indicator you're getting but I contacted koso north America and they recommended against a gi because of signal problems. Has anyone actually gotten a gear indicator to work?

GI = gear indicator correct? I dont know really. Not many were able to tell us if it works or not. However I would like to get it work. Since I work on cars all day long, I would like to work this "problem" out. As I like to have a Gear Indicator on my bike ^^.

Yes, GI = gear indicator. I wanted one on my bike also but koso's response discouraged me. I know there are two others on this forum who tried to install GI's with the Koso gauge. According to the threads, they were not successful. I did, however, see a GI on ebay that doesn't use the measurements from the speedo and tach but uses a magnet at the shifting lever. Not sure how accurate that would be though.

Well if I were Koso, I would installed a switch in the shifter linkage with 3 positions. Top, middle and bottom. Where top will be upshift, middle is neutral and bottom would be downshift or 1st gear.

All they need to do is make the indicator recognize 1st and neutral, the rest is + or - gearing.

I hope Koso have this issue figured out, I really would like the gear indicator for the bike before I give it to my fiance to make riding easier for her. (She has no experience with clutches therefore an indicator would be awesome for her)
