Holy cow. 15 names. This needs to happen soon. I have made contact with a number of people here in EP and no one want to drive down to Chihuahua. One guy said he would but he wants some $$$$ and he looked shady as all hell.
This either leaves Asia or TJ. SoCal brothers, we need your help.

With those clearances, any tire that fits inside the swingarm will fit this hugger. I'm in if we can pull this off!

I really dont think he should go down there.....
It will be a lot cheaper if we get it from over seas. Lets start getting this thing together. So wayan $6 per hugger, + shipping. What do you think is the most effective way of shipping these? DHL? As of right now its 18 people. lets cut if off next monday and have everyone start sending you money, I want to start this thing, enough talking lets move

Look at it this way. If we have 20 people and shipping cost $600 thats still $30 per person + $6 for the hugger, and shipping from whoever receives all the huggers here another $10-20 thats like $50 - $60 at most. And that on the high side for sure. Count on it being $50 or less

Greetings! Thanks for this info and finally got my FZ16(byson) hugger from a Local Yamaha Dealer here in the Philippines. It cost Php 270.00 each. Here is my share of Joy for having a great Tire Hugger with cheap price as well.
Here is the Bike where the Hugger Came from: |

We are trying to get one going but sourcing the product and getting it shipped here is proving to be a monumental task. Unfortunately I don't think it will go through. If we can get in contact with a dealer in Mexico, order up about 20 of them and have someone either go get them or receive them from Mexico then we will be in business.

i still think its a little on the crazy side to order these from mexico if the price is truly $35 + shipping&handling, and maybe tax?
at this point there are 18 people that would be $630 just for the huggers, without shipping from mexico (if someone goes to pick them up). if i were to get them here, for $6 each, that would be $108 for the 18 huggers, plus a MAXIMUM of $310 ish for the shipping, for a total amount of $420 (rough estimation, but it should be in this ballpark) that's already $200 cheaper (overall) to get it from here, compared to mexico. and maybe the shipping could cost less. just letting you guys know that the alternative is still there if you cant get someone to smuggle them over the border, hehe... W. edit~ 19 ppl now, lol, the more ppl that join, the cheaper it becomes to get them from here

Is someone on the list willing to except the package from Wayan and redistribute as needed? Someone on the west side of country would cheapest for the international shipping right? You would need a physical address and of course a Paypal account.
Wayan: Personally I think I would prefer DHL shipping to State-side so it would be over here in 4-5 days right? Are you quoting estimated shipping for DHL? Also could you get some dimensions of the hugger so maybe I could figure out the cost for a proper size box and shipping once they are State-side. Do we know yet if they are "stackable"? To all involved: I'm having another thought too. What if someone (possibly me) were to order maybe 25-30 of these and front the cost of the huggers and shipping to the States and would just have the huggers available as stock on hand and ready to ship. What would you guys be willing to pay for them shipped so the person who fronted the money and took the risk would make a small profit for his coordinating and reshipping efforts. This is easily going to take up someone's weekend repacking and shipping these things and personally I'd be willing to throw in a few extra bucks for someone doing that for us.

DHL from my understanding doesnt to domestic shipping anymore. USPS is going to be the cheapest but will take the longest. FedEx sucks because they brake every delicate item they touch. MY vote is UPS
I would totally offer to help distribute but I have no time to help :/

Yeah I'm thinking DHL to State-side and then either UPS or USPS to distribute them.

i have no idea how well they stack, i only bought 1 for myself xD
until i have more than 1, i wont know how they fare with stacking. im sure that they should stack, maybe not very well because of the chain guard on the left side, but i think it would help save a lot of space overall.

Also, how likely is it that 20+ huggers are going to be able to ship in one package? May need to consider that it may need to be split into two GB which unfortunately adds cost, but may provide opportunity to split the work load as well... |

Just throwing this out there; I doubt that any specific store will have 21+ huggers in stock so you will also have to take in account the time it would take for the dealer to recieve the rather large shipment of huggers and possibly an added cost for such a large amount to be shipped to them.

The sooner we let them know that they are highly sought after, the sooner they can begin making em and shipping them out.
A call to that Yamaha branch could be interesting when requesting such a large amount of Yammy parts for Kawi bikes...whoever does it please record. Wonder if Yamaha North America would be interested in lending a hand..
