was just wondering what kind of switch the blaster X switch is, is it something you could just buy down the hardware shop?

Yeah, it looks like its just a circuit on/off toggle switch. If you price it out, the cost is nearly the same once you factor in the time to make one.

^ Which is why I'm just ordering one through Tri for the CustomLED switch, it'll be properly gauged wiring, properly made, with a ring terminal and proper shrink tape. Otherwise I'd make it myself.

Hey Tri,
Do you think it would be possible for me to buy the switch after I've received and installed the tail light? I think the standard 3 strobe is enough, but if I wanted to increase it, would you accept new orders? (for just the switch I mean). thanks.

You don't need the switch, the switch just makes it easier to configure.
The tail light comes with a ground, that you would hook up to the switch.
But to re-configure the tail light without the switch, you would just MANUALLY ground that wire. As in hold it by hand, and touch it to a ground.

Again, the switch is 100% for convenience. Absolutely not necessary.

hmm if its any switch i might buy one at a later stage or something as i don't wanna confuse my self any more with the installation lol with the switch is it just for configuration because i saw on a youtube video think from someone on this site that when its turned on it makes it strobe and everything and when he turns it off it goes normal, what's all that for?

All of that is also done using the ground wire, aka the ground switch.
Both ways enable the strobe mode, which is basically a demo mode.

See this link for further information.

had a look and it says "THIS FEATURE IS ENGAGED BY GROUNDING THE GRAY WIRE (TO ANY COMMON GROUND POINT: BATTERY (-) OR FRAME). THIS WIRE SHOULD BE CONNECTED TO A TOGGLE SWITCH TO CONTROL STROBE MODE OPERATION. FOR NORMAL TAIL LIGHT OPERATION, THIS WIRE SHOULD NOT BE CONNECTED TO ANYTHING." Does this mean i have to have the switch (turned on) and grounded for the strobe to work when im braking otherwise if its not grounded it wont strobe? :s sorry im easily confused lol

No, read it more carefully,

Quote:
CUSTOMIZING FEATURES
ONCE YOU HAVE ACCESSED THE PROGRAMMING INTERFACE, YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE THE FOLLOWING MENUS.
1) TURN THE STARTUP SEQUENCE ON/OFF.
2) SET THE NUMBER OF BRAKE ALERT PULSES FROM 0 TO 19, OR CONSTANT WHILE BRAKES APPLIED.
3) SET THE RUNNING LIGHT BRIGHTNESS WITHIN A PRESET RANGE.
4) SET THE BRAKE LIGHT BRIGHTNESS WITHIN A PRESET RANGE.
5) ENTER DEMO MODE. (USEFUL FOR BIKE SHOWS AND DISPLAYS)
6) RESET FACTORY DEFAULTS (SAME AS WHEN THE TAIL LIGHT WAS MANUFACTURED).
You ground, and unground, 5 times, and you enter demo mode.

Ohhh thats cool thanks for helping me understand that, im sure i'll have more question when it comes to wiring it up and programming things like the brightness and all that, we'll come to that when i get there thoguh haha

Tri: if its not to much hassle can i add a switch think it will just make it a bit nicer for programming if its too much hassle no worries i can live without it, i can also pay as soon as you confirm it.
