From dust to dust... an Air Filter tragedy

I pulled my carbs today to send to ducatiman. The bike has been running fine, but it felt low on torque. I opened up the air box to discover pieces of what used to be an air filter rolling around inside it. After much head scratching, I pulled the whole air box out one half at a time determined to clean it out and do the air box mod while I was at it.

I'm glad I decided to pull it apart, since there was bits of air filter dust all throughout the box. It was obvious the carbs have been eating the dust for some time. I cleaned the box, put it all back together and ordered a new filter.

The question: do I have anything more to be worried about aside from a good carb cleaning? I haven't noticed any symptoms... although the engine, where the carbs mate up to the cylinders, look brown and felt rough... I don't recall what it looked like last time.

The filter material is soft and has been ingested and exhausted by the engine with no damage.
The carbs cannot have been affected by this, as the mix of air and atomized fuel flow very fast and straight through it.
Maybe some particles are blocking the air intake orifices meant for the emulsioner tubes.

Thanks for the info. I'll rest easy.
