Have to roll bike back to get into first?

Curious, I was looking at a bike (it was a 250 cbr) but in order to get from neutral to 1st, you had to move backwards while shifting.

Why is that? My ninja 250r doesn't do that

Engine on or off? CBR250's have some odd shifting issues when new.

I didn't try when it was off... The bike was on.

It had around 7400 miles on it

From people I know that have them, they have shifting issues from neutral to first. I think it's a clutch adjustment issue but nothing has been proven.

One person I know had to let the clutch lever half way out from the bars before it would go to first.

So it's normal for these bikes? Nothing to worry about?

From the people I've met in person that have one, neutral to first shifts are wonky.

Don't know if I'd consider it normal but it seems to be common.
