I enjoyed it.

I didn't come in with any expectations, which allowed me to enjoy the film.

Saw it last night. Meh. It's not a Star Wars movie, but rather an action movie that takes place in the Star Wars universe. I was sorely disappointed with Michael Giacchino's score as well.

Great reviews! Thank you for your input.

I kinda figured it would be a spinoff to keep us interested until sequel 8 comes out.

It's an entertaining watch. Like Brother Michigan, I did not feel it was really a "Star Wars" film as much as it was an action movie set in the universe.

I thought it was thematically very different from the mainline Star Wars films, but in a good way. I thought the themes of hope and the greater good were fantastic, but the acting was average.

I really enjoyed it. I felt it fell flat in a couple of instances, but overall, it was great. I just wish John Williams did the score on it.

I finally got a chance to see Rogue One this Saturday. I found it very refreshing that wasn't a copy & paste of the previous sequels that have become very predictable. It was a great backstory that stood on its own. Great action scenes with bits of humor in between.
I would highly recommend you go see this movie whether you are a Star Wars fan or not.

I saw the movie on December 28th. Some of you who saw it will understand how the ending creeped me out a bit and made me more sad than the storyline would have done by itself. It just took me by surprise. It was sad yet strangely hopeful.

I thought it was a great movie. I enjoyed that it wasn't cookie cutter open style ending, and now that the franchise is owned by Disney, this movie was surprisingly dark in nature. Not everyone lives happily ever after, and unlike every Star Wars movie ever made, this one has closure.

The movie was very Star Wars in feel, and even beyond the obvious there's connections made everywhere to the rest of the Star Wars universe.

Anyway, I highly recommend it. I'd like to see it again.

ps. The robot was funny without insulting our intelligence. Unlike in Episode II, when C3PO was getting dragged along and he said "Oh, this is a drag." I heard that and I knew it was time for George Lucas to F'n retire.

it was meh.

Other than a few parts at the beginning of the movie i didn't really feel it. I didn't really feel like i had a chance to get attached to any of the characters which makes the later parts of the movie less meaningful

I agree with @Zaph42. This movie doesn't leave you hanging wondering what will happen in the next sequel but gives you insight into the previous movies with closure.

It deserves a re-watch for being such a dark installment in the Star Wars universe. I thought it was pretty good when it came out.

I was talking with someone on Facebook about The Last Jedi, I thought it was a Great Movie, I loved how Rian changed the direction instead of following the paths of the original series. This guy was saying something like for Serious Star Wars Fans etc etc they didnt like it etc etc....

I think I'm a serious Star Wars fan, I collect Star Wars comics, have about 4000+ Star Wars memorabilia's, have all the movies etc...

but for me as a Non Serious Star Wars fan (lol) I believe that Any Star Wars movie that comes out, I will Love.

Rise of Skywalker is Next Month!

Rogue One was the first spinoff followed by Han Solo.. it now looks like more spinoffs are coming. The Mandalorian , Yoda and Obi-Wan. Some will be interesting.

We still might be surprised and shocked, even though Palpatine, well his voice, was revealed in the trailers. Wicket might even show up

The Mandalorian is one Amazing show though.

There are rumors of a Darth Maul series for Disney+.

The biggest disappointment I have with Disney buying the rights to Star Wars is that who have to subscribe to The Disney Channel in order to watch the spinoffs such The Mandalorian, Darth Maul and Obi-Wan.

Bit the bullet and started with Disney Plus this week. We already had Hulu, so there is a bundle that includes Hulu/Disney+/ESPN+ for $13/month. The Mandalorian is an incredible show, and we quickly got through the first 4 episodes (and then the 5th last night). It really does feel like a Star Wars movie, except in some ways I preferred it over some of the recent flicks. Even the music for it is unique and enjoyable. I know they went all out for this to kick off the service, so I can only hope the quality and care stays at or near this level as it scales.

Biggest disappointment was Lucas not copying any more classic Japanese sagas after original Star Wars. Instead he started making kid’s movies!

Rogue One was refreshing step back to original theme.

I completely agree with you. His original movies explored the the natural world / universe around us and made you think about how it all works together.
