[faster and faster] - Honda UK bring back the 1990s ‘Urban Tiger’ paint scheme for th

Honda UK are bringing back the 1990s 'Urban Tiger' paintjob on the current-model Fireblade. At least it won't be as common as the Repsol-replica 'Blades!

Remember the 1990s? The Suzuki SRAD GSX-R750s, Yamaha FZR1000 EXUPs, the mighty Honda RVF750R (RC45), the Ducati 916, the Kawasaki ZXR750, the first of the Kawasaki ZX-9Rs and, perhaps most of all, Tadao Baba's first Honda CBR900RR FireBlade, which pretty much redefined the world of superbikes. Fans of the 'Blade might well remember the 'Urban Tiger' paint scheme on the 1994 FireBlade, which has now been brought back to life by Honda UK, on the current model CBR1000RR Fireblade.

Available at selected Honda UK dealerships, the Urban Tiger Fireblade gets an upgraded cylinder head, revised PGM-DSFI fuel-injection settings for increased top-end power and mid-range torque, and an Akrapovic exhaust system. "We saw this as the perfect opportunity to celebrate the colourful history of the Fireblade, and decided to take that one step further by offering customers the chance to own a modern version of this retro livery. The Urban Tiger is one of the most loved Fireblade paint schemes in the model’s 22-year history and it’s still as popular today as it was back in 90s. Now, Fireblade fans can have the best of both worlds – the iconic design, on the latest evolution of the machine," says Honda UK’s Nick Campolucci.

You can gets your hands on the 2014 Urban Tiger Honda Fireblade for a mere £13,299 OTR, though we'd much rather have a Martini Racing Fireblade or one that's painted in the 1980s Rothmans Honda colours!
