Strange turn-signal problem

So, been noticing that occasionally my turn signals just randomly stop working while riding. If I leave the switch on as though I am indicating a turn, most of the time the come back some time later all by themselves. Thinking this might be a flasher issue, and the fact that my rear left-turn indicator was hanging, I replaced the flasher with an LED flasher and replaced the indicators with LED indicators.

Now, the signals work about 90% of the time, but it is noticeable when I start the bike. If I turn off the bike and turn it back on, it seems to resolve itself.

Would this be a symptom of a failing/latching turn switch, or something else?

Measure voltages at connector right after handlebar switch. Match up states of wires with position of switch. If they don't match, jiggle the switch and see if signal changes. Sure sign you have switch that's on its way out. Sometimes can be revived with silicone spray to help it slide easier and free up the springs.

^^while you're at it, do a once-over on all the electrical connectors on the turn signal system. Off the top of my head, there's connectors at the turn signals themselves, at the thermal flasher, and the switch on the handlebars.
