I realize that folks can top these temps. But we are not used to it here at all. 101 in SEATTLE omg.
THIS IS A BIG DEAL HERE.

First the winter from hell now this.
No riding because full gear will kill us.

I have never seen the sun so hot and clear here, haha It is like a SI FI movie.
The sun is colliding with the earth.
This is all time records for us with the thick blood here. It is expected to continue till the weekend.

I just want to ride....

Folks are getting grumpy here... I will send a message for help if needed

be on stand by. lol

Not stopping me!!! YEAH, the freaking heat is killer. Glad i'm in air condition at work but still miserable because of having to werk. O well, can't have it all....

My gear is all black and my helmet is black haha I would toast. Up here in Monroe/ Gold Bar.Ohh we have some wind today.that is a good thing.
I am hitting the mall later tonight haha!! And much better than the Ice mess we had last winter

i heard about your hot weather on the radio this morning. obviously we get that easy here in texas, but everyone has AC so its not a big deal.

we've already had 2 races this season (one was an 8 hour) with temps above 100. it makes for a brutal day. the only med transport we had during the 8 hour race was a heat victim. he didn't know where he was or anything.

It has been incredibly hot where I live these past few days as well, with another week of it to come. I've been going riding in the evening when it is a little cooler since my daily commute to work includes about 10 minutes of idling in traffic both ways.

Broom that is crazy. Probably good for the traction but yikes.
TR , My hub got Heat sickness from riding last year Black leathers 80+ and traffic. headache and throwing up.

He was hot to touch that evening. ( and not in the good way hee)
weird stuff. scary.

Was 107 here a few days ago. Been over 100 for two weeks. Only 94 today. Whew!

Yeah, I hear you. I am in Victoria, so the temps yesterday started at about 70f early in the AM as I rode to work. My office is air-conditioned so I was comfortable. When I stepped outside at 4:30 - whoosh! 90f and high humidity - the blast of heat as I opened the door felt like opening up a hot oven!

My jacket is fully-vented, so as long as I kept moving I felt okay, but at every stoplight I broke into a sweat. By the time I got home my shirt was soaking wet.

Today is supposed to be as hot or hotter. I haven't used my car in a week, so I decided that today I would drive and make use of the air-conditioner!

the same weekend as the 8 hour we actually had a few brake failures on the 125gp bikes due to boiling brake fluid. they're doing some decent braking on that track. combine that with the hot ambient temps and the moisture in the brake fluid boils and causes air bubbles. one failure caused a broken femur and a air lift to the hospital.

Drink lots of fluid. It's no reason to stop riding. If you have mesh gear it is a lot better. Just don't go were you know there will be endless traffic lights.

i just got back from a quick ride. its ridiculous. my head was roasting in my black helmet and i was sweating my butt off even with my mesh jacket on. i just checked the thermometer on the deck and it says 104 in the shade. NO freaking breeze what so ever, its making it even worse.

Its been kind of cold here in Bama lately, its been down in the 80's most of July, usually 100+ temps are the norm for July and August. Maybe we traded climates?

I sure hope so I hate the Alabama heat.

This reminds me of my childhood visiting my grandmother in Mobile,AL. The air is thick and there are few places for respite. I grew up in L.A./S.D. in cali and every home and business had A.C. I have A.C. in my bedroom so when we are home my wife and I are lying in bed; so it's not a total loss. :-) Stay Cool Everybody

Ha! but seattle temps will go down next week. high 90's and low 100's is normal for Southern cali valley. Now you know how it feels to ride in the heat. Go buy a mesh jacket, those help a lot.

zartan, yeah as you may remember, my sister and her family live in duvall. she was telling me about the weather you guys are having. a couple of my nephews are getting heat rash and 1 is getting a bloody nose. lol. poor guys. they definitely are not used to the heat.

this is funny as we are cold where im at. im on the lake for the next week the water temp is down 8 deg from normal, and air temp weve only hit 75 down by my house they had a record low of 43 deg over night. weather is crazy stuff

ya bunch of girly men!!!! I blasted through all our 100+ weather to and fro work then out and about the weekend... I will not be forced off my biking pleasures and the hotter the better. Was more ticked because I was rained out for 3 days this week... that is not good!

Hey you guys have it good. It's been raining practically non-stop since the beginning of June here. It's also been the coldest June & July on record. They're calling it the "year without a summer". I think I can count the times I've had the bike out on one hand. Then this week it's finally in the 80s with sunshine, but the friggin' dewpoint is in the 80s too, so it feels like you're riding a jetski. Had my air conditioner on today and I couldn't even see out my windows because of the condensation on the outside from the humidity. Great weather...if you're a mosquito. They're the worst they've ever been with all the rain. I can't go out to retrieve the morning paper in the driveway without donating some blood.

I refuse to go out in shorts and a t-shirt, like I see so many other bikers doing these days. Nothing says summer vacation like a skin graft...

It's not the high temp that kills, it's the freakin' HUMIDITY. 106 degrees + 85~97% humidity... in *Washington* = FAIL

Authur, Yes I was in Bellevue yesterday . I don't think the other guys get it. We are big babies and love our 70's 105+ is killing us. 100 in Gold bar today.

We just are not set up for this. No one is sleeping and Getting cranky for sure. I got yelled at in the parking lot by some freaky guy today. I honked at him because he was backing up fast and I was in his blind spot. ( both in cars.)

I waved nicely. Just trying to communicate. boy he was pissed. I said hey I came up fast on you and wanted to make sure you saw me. No hassles?? I smiled politey and he shook his fists. hollering at me like ya lady like I was really gonna back into ya" I think he was drunk -rat bastard freak.

My friend is sick from it and Soundwaves sister's kids are having trouble, My dogs are like "wat up with this????" glad it will be gone soon.

Cavies you get this all the time. this is a all time high since recording in 1891 over 100 years. Usually only hits 90 1-2 days a year if that. so that is why this is a big deal. No need for a vest normally. For other folks who get this every year It would be a great thing. By the time I order it and it comes it will be back to normal. ( monday they said hopefully)

sorry we missed you at Xmas. that was another weather pattern from hell. I think we have had enough this year.
Time to get back to normal and stay there. Not only it is hot. I don't want to be on the road with cranky sleep deprived cagers. I will wait till it calms down. Most everyone I met today was a zombie.

You guys should try riding in Maracaibo. Were it is 100F with 80% humidity plus the air is stagnent so it and feels like 120F all year long. You'll think the "Heat waves here are a joke." And oddly enough, you dont hear reports of people dieing from the heat there like they do hear. The people are smart enough to drink water during the day and don't go out side from 12:00 - 2:00. We northerners are just not used to the heat so we forget to take care of ourselves and then get into trouble.

I rode home from Bothell to Redmond yesterday after putting ice cubes in the pockets of my mesh jacket... The cubes were gone by the time I got home, and my shirt was almost dry... It was like holding a hair drier in front of me on 405...

And remember! 100+ here does not mean the same thing as 100+ somewhere else!

Anyway, I also read somewhere that mesh jackets are only better then non mesh between something like 75 and 95. Above 95, it's better to wear a non mesh and sweat. The wind through a mesh at above 95 will dehydrate you too quickly and not give you any cooling. With a non-mesh, you sweat and get cooled without loosing too much water...

I see a lot of guys bragging that they keep riding when it's 105. Where are you guys in the winter when I'm riding to work in 35f weather? Today when I rode to work, there were seven or eight motorcycles and scooters in the parking lot, yet when I ride to work in the winter I'm the only person there on two wheels.

I don't get that - it's a lot easier to dress warm in cold weather than vice versa.

DAMN it's hot. I wear, I think I lost about 5lb in water weight. It's not the high temp that kills, it's the freakin' HUMIDITY. *106 degrees + 85~97% humidity... in Washington* = FAIL**

Were it is 100F with 80% humidity plus the air is stagnent so it and feels like 120F all year long. You'll think the "Heat waves here are a joke." And oddly enough, you dont hear reports of people dieing from the heat there like they do hear. The people are smart enough to drink water during the day and don't go out side from 12:00 - 2:00. We northerners are just not used to the heat so we forget to take care of ourselves and then get into trouble. __________________________________________________ Addicted to anything that has an engine and rolls.

The cubes were gone by the time I got home, and my shirt was almost dry... It was like holding a hair drier in front of me on 405... And remember! 100+ here does not mean the same thing as 100+ somewhere else! Anyway, I also read somewhere that mesh jackets are only better then non mesh between something like 75 and 95. Above 95, it's better to wear a non mesh and sweat. The wind through a mesh at above 95 will dehydrate you too quickly and not give you any cooling. With a non-mesh, you sweat and get cooled without loosing too much water...

I see a lot of guys bragging that they keep riding when it's 105. Where are you guys in the winter when I'm riding to work in 35f weather? Today when I rode to work, there were seven or eight motorcycles and scooters in the parking lot, yet when I ride to work in the winter I'm the only person there on two wheels.
