Talking My Project

Hey guys,

I bought a beginner bike.... but heres the catch. Its been completely stripped and laid down once on the right side. looked like **** but im on my way to how i want it to look, which is a streetfighter look. Its a 2008 ninja 250 (origionally blue) and has 8000 miles on it. clean title. GUESS WHAT?! I GOT IT FOR 700$ LOL.

anyways ya im going to start posting pictures on how it looked before and when im done with it. I posted 4 pictures, first 2 are how it looked from before and last 2 is how it looks now. i still need like 25% more to finish it like backseat, front wheel fender, clean carbs, re adjust speedometer cluster, addind some more mods and stuff. i let you know if you want to know. I did many things to it since i bought it too, so again if you want to know ill write it but its too long lol

Got it from a guy in Wylie, TX lol, on craigslist. he posted it for 1000 and i negotiated to 700, more like a "hey how about 700" and he was like "ya if you take it today" hahaha. but ya so far no problems and i took it to 90 on a Dallas north tollway pretty easy. could have gone more but wind was killing me without windshield (which i dont want to get) and cars. Came with Two Brothers exhaust and sounds amazing too.

Looks like I'm working on a similar case, except I'm the one who destroyed my bike. Same color as yours I'll be watching your progress for ideas and I'll share some of the fixes I will be making on my own bike. Good Luck!

As promised some updates, Not much change but painted the rear fairing things matte black and added black bar sliders and blue swingarm sliders. Blue/black Kawasaki tank pad coming in mail, Signals for tail coming in (don't want front signals), right and left tail fairings are coming in, left side passenger peg, and im buying a rear seat from a 2010 from a guy on CL tomorrow for 25$ like new!! I will update pictures once they all come in (which should be all coming in by next week or weak after that,). First days of November i will have updated pics!

Heres how the tank pad looks, Pretty awesome deal for a amazing looking tank pad! only 5 bucks free shipping and will go great with my blue/black look. (from china so it will take 2 weeks...)

Thanks for the info. I'll place my order soon. Was wiring it up easy? I have a stock dash right now, how can I replace it so it doesn't look all fugly? lol Believe it or not, it actually takes a lot longer to reach India, thanks to customs, etc... Also, how does the gear indicator work?

If you want to, you can wait till i get it and set it up which will be in 10 to 14 days since i just ordered it. Then i will show you how i did it but its pretty small according to the dimensions so i think setting it up wont be a mounting it wont be a hassle. Wiring he said it fits with the new ninja 250s so we'll see how it works and well it fits once i get it.

Last time I checked those gauges didn't count RPMs high enough. Glad to see that they now do, even if I spent WAY too much on a Koso gauge!

So i painted the front forks flat black, the rear tail fairings flat black, and some of the front of the bike. Im getting my gauge next week cuase its in NY and everything is delayed from Sandy. All i need to buy is my front fender and rear seat.

Edit: it looks like i only have rim tape in the back but i have on the front too, wheel is just bent side ways so hard to see.

Uhh... I don't think painted forks is a good idea. Those things are polished to a shine for a reason: they have to seal the oil in and slide with minimal friction/drag.
