Greg Neal is a close personal friend of mine. I have been working with him on the 250 for a couple years. He has my cut down fuel tank and all my secrets done. Bike is stock body and stock engine except for the tank and Brock's exhaust. He went 112 mph.

The 600 went 190 yes 190

When is the next event for you?

What is your best so far? More than 112 - right? EDIT: Guess I could have read your sig

I wanted this thread to be a collection of information about LSR, so feel free to add any info, photos, or links that are related.

Thanks.

First off there is a vast world of land speed racing . Only on the east coast do they seperate two stroke and four stroke engines. So records with the ECTA or LTA will say 250-4 or 250-2.I won't address the two stroke records. But they are 150+- mph

This is how the 250-4 world stacks up. At least the mile racing.
Number one is Moto madcap Honda . Wizards of nitrous system. On altered class. At Maxton 131mph.

Darkhorse racing modified nitrous ninja 250 123

RNR cycles Ninja 250 nitrous is 122

Then team Mullholland at 119 with nitrous.

The top speeds without nitrous are all 112.

These are all partial streamline records.
I don't know the naked or just modified record speeds. But I can update them later.

From the sound of it, every event scheduled at Bonneville will be cancelled again this year.

The salt is getting very thin, and any minor rise in the water table floods the track. The salt thickness used to be around a foot and a half, now it's about an inch and a half.

It was four feet thick. Now it is 3/4 of an inch. The Bonneville Salt flats is ruined. I drove out in 2013 and there has not been much racing after that. It brakes my heart.

It looks like Mile racing will be the big show now. The dry lakes like Elmarage are good. But the traction on dirt won't hold the power like salt can. Austrailia is to far for me to drive.

The Morton salt factory.( not responsible for the problem) has a factory out there. It's a rail road track and a bulldozer. Trains pull up and they shovel the salt in.

The problem is a mining company. For 60 years they pump the water out from under the salt. Taking salt and minerals out. They sell the minerals and dump the salt on the other side of Rt 81. That seems to be the problem.

In the world of land speed racing there is a new frontier. Mile racing and going 300 mph on a motorcycle. And going 1000 mph in a car. Not in a mile but on a giant rift Vally in Africa. Those are the next big goals. O and going 125 mph on a 250 ninja.

I have my bike ready for the next speed trials. It will be running in Wilmington Ohio on September 26.
I have not made any changes to the bike since the last run except a minor adjustment to the nitrous volume. I am also going to be running the bike with no front fairing. Just to see what happens. This will be sort of a test and tune. I hope the weather is good and it runs well.

Rachel and Shane are really great people.
Rachel is the first person to go 200 +mph at the Ohio mile.

And TLN motorsports are always working really hard to push the limits of there machines. I am looking for big numbers from both these teams in 2016.

More sad news from the world of LSR -

RIP Sam Wheeler.

http://www.motorcycle.com/features/l...ing-crash.html

EDIT: http://www.miamiherald.com/news/nati...2.html?ref=yfp

Another great racer/designer/fabricator, and an overall great guy from all reports, looses his life in pursuit of speed.

Not long ago the sport lost Bill Warner in a racing crash. Bill was the fastest man on a non-streamliner at 311 mph.

Triumph Breaks Land Speed Record -

http://blog.motorcycle.com/2016/08/1...-speed-record/

Kinda. Worlds Fastest Triumph at 274.2 mph. Still a ways off of the absolute record at Bonneville of 376.363 mph by the Ack Attack streamliner with Rocky Robinson aboard in 2010.

Yeah, I haven't written a press release yet, but I happened to break the world speed record* a few weeks ago.

Big news from the salt today.
My buddy Danny Tompson got into the 400 mph club. He has many years and had a lot of problems. Plus two years of rain out on the salt. But today he set a record at 402 and got a black hat.
He it running a car he and his dad built. His dad was murderd and he has since rebuilt the car from the ground up. I am very happy for him.
