Riding pants - need suggestions
I've been looking for a pair of riding pants for about a month. Read reviews, watched Revzilla videos and still not sure what to get. I'm looking for a pant for mostly summer riding so I'd like some air flow, good knee and hip armor, good protection in impact areas ( removable liner would be nice too). There is not as much gear for women as there is for men, so I'm willing to consider either. The local bike shop only had 2 pairs of pants so that wasn't helpful. I want to try to spend $300 or less. Suggestions?

Do you ride in all weather conditions? Should they be waterproof or do you have a set of waterproof overpants?

Already have a pair of waterproof overpants with no armor.

Check out the Women's Gear 2 Leather Pants by Rev'it. I have them and I can't recommend them enough.
Edit: Nevermind, just saw 300 or less. |

antiant - Good suggestion. A little more than I wanted to spend, but closer to what I'm looking for than anything else I've seen. May spring the extra $100 to get these if I can't find anything else. Safety is worth the $$$

Stay away from the Vika line of Alpinestars. It's incredibly expensive but ridiculously thin and poorly protected. It does what a lot of women's gear does, which is put fashion over function.
It's out of your price range anyway, but I thought I'd throw it out there |

These are the pants I have:
http://www.cyclegear.com/CycleGear/S...43335_59409_14 They have armor in the knees, but not the hip area (which I wish they did, but oh well.) They have 2 liners inside, one for winter and another for wind/rain, but without the liners, they're nice and vented and meshy. Also, I'm short, 5'1 and the length on these are perfect for me. If you're taller, you can tuck the ends into you boots and no one would be the wiser. There's velcro at the bottom of the legs so you can tighten them around your ankle.
