Out of curiosity do the black 250R stickers on the back fender come off clean or do they leave some nasty residue im going to have to fight with? Its not that im not proud of my 250, i just dont care for the stickers, just out of curiosity, dont even know if ill take them off, its just had me wondering..

Hmmm lol its an 08 green one, doubt its something the guy before me put on, looks like its from the factory, guess ill have to take a picture of it and post it on here later, maybe im the only one who has it on there lol i cant find a picture on google, thought it was stock, hah, oops

lol... a sticker that ugly wouldn't come stock from the factory. search on how to remove decals.

If you have a steamer then apply some steam, you can use an iron an push the steam near the decal and it will break up the glue for a clean removal.

Dont want to use steam, well you can you some warm/hot wanter and run it over the decal. Then use your nail to peel it. After that you can use rubbing alcohol or get a bottle of "sticker Shock" to remove the residue.

Just peel em off and then use some WD40 to get the goo off.

I went and got the stickers from the guy on our site and put them on!!

Yah, if it's an 08 with 250R stickers on it, someone put them on after buying it. They left off ANYTHING designating it as a 250 on purpose from the factory. They were going for the whole 'big' bike looks that can fool those that didn't already know and therefore made sure to put nothing on it giving away the real size. Part of their marketing scheme for the US market mostly. Worked great too from all the stories you hear of people refusing to believe it's a 250 even after owners tell them it is.

I use duct tape to remove excess sticker residue. A hair dryer helps loosen the sticker initially.

Yeah, my stickers are coming from Kevin's Garage as we speak. The stickers the OP has on his bike though, I can definitely agree that they need to come off.

The est way i have found is a hair dryer and goo gone, Use the hair dryer on an edge and slowly peal that edge back, keep the dryer in that spot and gently pull with one hand as you blow the hot air under the sticker, this should heat the glue and pull it off. Do not just run the hair dyer over the decal and then pull though, what you will do is separate the sticker part from the glue, you willl have the stiker off but all the glue still on the bike (ask me how i know)

for the last little bits i used a goo gone type solvent, i put it on a towell and rubbed it over the glue, let it sit a moment then used another towel and wiped the glue away, i did this several times as i would rather take longer to get it off then use too much solvent on the bikes finish.

I then used a soapy towel and cleaned off the last of the solvent, 2 coats of wax and iit looks and feels perfect.

I just did this yesterday to my fazer but i didnt take any pics.

I know it's implied but we should go ahead and point out that they do have factory "250R" stickers on '08 models in other countries.

when I got my bike there was a sticker on the front fairing just below the windshield. I also was afraid that there would be a residu when I took it off. But I just did it and the ugly thing came off clean. No residu at all. I believe it'll be the same for the 'stock stickers'

Pretty much contrary to what this thread is about, I added some "250R" stickers to the tail of my bike, courtesy of Kevin's Garage. He does great work and I know the stickers were left off so that people can't tell the bike is only a 250, but I really like the way they look and they sort of complete to "super-sport look".
