louder pipes? better tires?

any thought on exhaust mods - I dunno why but I like loud

Also My 2006 has origonal stock tires at 4500 miles - are there better tires for al around road conditions?

There are quite a few threads here about tire selection for the pre-gens, the search function should lead you to a whole bunch of what you're looking for. Here's a link to the pre-gen wiki on ninja250.org that catalogs all of the choices pretty well.

Louder pipes - Area P will be producing a full exhaust system for our "pre-gen" and that is what I plan on getting for mine. Very good performance and great sound.
Better tires - I have switched over to Pirelli Sport Demons and love them.

I put Pirellia Sp.Demons on my '07 N-250 and now on my '09 N-250... you can't beat them for stickiness and the grip on either dry or wet surfaces...very confidence inspiring for a more agressive ride.

Although I'm getting an AP exhaust too, if you're looking for really loud pipes, the two brothers set is supposed to be EXTREMELY loud. They look pretty sweet too, and they're less than half the price of the AP system. Of course, the AP system is much MUCH better quality, but I have to let you know of all the options.

I have both....a muzzy full pipe...and a set of Bridgestone BT45's on my '06. I can't comment on stock vs the muzzy...but its loud. Sometimes almost too loud. I enjoy showing off for the ladies and what have you...like anyone else...but having that thing shooting its mouth (pipe?) off at 2am isn't the greatest thing ever.

I say get yourself some new rubbers. The BT45's I put on are FANTASTIC. I highly recommend them.

This is the exhaust I'm going with, very pricy but I think it will be worth it IMO

Plus, I just got the Bridgestone bt016's 150/60/17's and I absolutly love them. Hope my input could help you in some way

Loud pipes are for posers, and people who like to annoy their neighbors.

The only place 'loud pipes save lives' is in the sticks, where the only lives they save are animals---and the occasional rider that doesn't hit said wildlife. In traffic, no one can see or hear you regardless how loud you are...

i want the custom 15" from AP with the quiet core... it looks sweet, and i'm hoping that its not much louder than the full 18", since like Kelly and many others out there, i also prefer quiet mufflers over blaring harley wanna be's...

that said, i do like the lower tone of the after market exhausts compared to the scooter like sound the stock mufflers make, and the looks of the 15" is over riding my wanting to get the quieter 18" x)

here a lot of people put what they call exhausts, but are practically trumpets on their little mopeds (100~150 cc bikes) and gawd, they make me cringe when they open up and pretend to be a big fast bike... when they are actualy on a scooters, LOL

well I'd have to disagree, I prefer a louder "deep" sounding exhaust, not sure how you figure I would be a poser for that, but ok lol. I also do believe people CAN hear you with a louder exhaust seeing that I've had a few people pull out in front of me but as soon as I sound my horn they swerve over all surprised, with a louder exhaust on my side I'm sure they would've been aware I was there in the first place. I guess that's just my opinion

I've seen exhaust loudness save lives personally. I've also heard other peoples' stories about when it helped them or they heard an exhaust which kept them from pulling out in front of someone else on a bike.

lol, I've stayed neutral on this one. I enjoy a loud pipe, but I can see why it bothers some people. However, after listening to a Harley accelerate, I don't feel bad.

You're not necessarily a poser, but your new gen 250 didn't come with the craptacular tires that the pre gens did

To the OP: Changing your tires to something better would make your bike feel completely different....best bang for the buck IMO

If you never ride your bike late an night or early in the morning, then loud pipes are fine....but for those late and early hours, poor neighbors. I personally would suggest Area P as they have great build quality, as well as a unique exhaust for the pregen since they change the design from dual exhaust to 1 side like the new gens are. Area Ps exhaust also has tremendous weight savings because their exhaust replaces quite a few parts on the bike and if a full exhaust as opposed to slipons of many others.

I don't know about the tires for the pregen...I know better tires make a big difference, but I know due to rim size that the pregen is extremely limited in what is available to it.
