Removing lights for track use

Guys I did quite a few track days on my 250 but plan on using my 2014 300 in the up coming months Having a rough time accessing lights I tried pulling the light fuse but I could hear a buzzing near the fuse box and thought better of it until I asked Also the plastics are more elaborate so again I thought I would stop in and ask if pulling the fuse is a go? I don't know why pulling fuses would be an problem. It's been done without issue.

Remember to check with your track org's rules to make sure it's kosher with them. You really only need like 3 fuses to keep a 250 running, not sure how many extra fuses a 300 needs, with the FI and all.

Do yourself a favour if only using for track bike, pull ALL the original fairings & store them, then remove lights. Then add cheap track fairings, if you are keen, then replace the rear subframe or shorten it to single seat size. Remove all bolted on items that are NOT required to run the bike to cut the weight to a minimum. Add crash bungs or covers.

Less items = less damage/expense should you unfortunately come off !

But there isn't really a removeable rear subframe for the 300 like there is with most supersports.

I find these fairings puzzling mainly bc I haven't yanked them off like my 250 was a breeze.
Maybe just have to get used to its disassembly

I'd suggest you acquire the service manual. It would be a lot faster to just follow the official instructions rather than guess and hope. Better still, you can acquire the manual as cheaply as your moral fiber will support on ye olde internets (ie free pdf).

Personally I found the 300's fairings amusingly complex compared to other bikes I've worked on.
