I ride for the same reason people have 500+hp cars, or climb Mount Everest. The same reason a girl tries out for the football team or a guy goes out for cheer-leading.

Because I can!

Sure, this is the typical American attitude to why we do a lot of what we do, but in the end, it might be the answer for many of us. There is nothing convenient about riding a motorcycle down in Louisiana. No lane splitting, no filtering, crappy weather and horrible drivers (I miss SoCal drivers). I have no storage other than what I can fit in my back pack, no special parking and not many good roads. With all this, why do I ride? Because I can.

Just my thoughts, take em or leave em.

i like to examine/understand complicated machinery. whether its an engine or a human doesn't really make much of a difference. i really enjoy seeing how things break. but even more i enjoy seeing how to fix them after they break. this is kinda my M.O. in life, so it leads me to ride my vehicles into the ground just so i have an excuse to fix them. some people don't really understand this and think i need to "stop messing up engines"... but they dont really understand that that is kinda the end goal here. riding bikes is simply an extension of that. riding harder and harder pushing the limits of the machine until it fails (you crash) and examining what happened and making corrections to fix it...

I like doing inherently dangerous things in the safest manner possible. Riding makes me smile. Plain and simple for me.
