Manual cam chain tensioner.

So I'm pretty much done with trying to deal my current CCT and I'm pretty sure it's starting to go bad. couple metal knicks on the metal "piston" and my cam chain gets loose unless I take it out and "reset" it. I've looked around for a MCCT but I've only found those for the newgen bikes.

Any ideas on what I would need fashion one of my own or if it's even a good idea? I have access/ can get access to a machine shop to make an aluminum body, but other than that I don't know what type of bolt I'd need or how to properly use one.

@Motofool This time your recommendation didn't break my bike

That annoying rattle is gone now, hopefully it'll stay that way when I ride my bike.

My gasket/pad did tear near one of the loops, but I used it anyways since it stayed in place regardless. Wish he'd have continued using orings, but good product from the feel of it.

I agree with the choice to do away with the o-ring for cost efficiency. You could always opt to use liquid gasket. the CCT mating surfaces is not pressurized enough to cause a leak.

Make sure that counter-nut is tight enough.
You should re-adjust it at each valve service.

That end of the throttle's cable could use some lubrication.

necro'd!

I bought one of these based on the info in this thread.

Now that I have it I am a little nervous about installing it myself, many horror stories about people getting it wrong...

What do you guys think? Was it as easy to get right as it seems? OR is it as easy to get wrong as some threads warn against?

As always, thanks for the help!

Yep, I seem to have gotten it set up right. Idle is really stable, and the crazy pin ball sound has not happened again.

Thanks!

Edit: I probably should say, It really is as easy as everyone makes it out to be. Just make sure you use the gasket seal correctly. My nerves forced me to re-do the adjustment 3 times before I felt it was right.

- For anyone who does get one in the future, it really is supposed to just sit on the guide lever. It seems like its not tight enough but it is.

For someone with a mind like mine, this was the most helpful video for this installation, and adjustment:

Link to original page on YouTube.

Thank you @n4mwd
