09 with no spark

Going to look at REALLY cheap 09. The seller says it was running until both coils went bad. I find it hard to believe that 2 coils would fail simultaneously. Any ideas from the experts? I know nothing other than what the ad says. Going to look at it at 430 today.

Really cheap can be good deal if you know how to repair. Coils do not ever go bad, I've only seen 1 or 2 in my entire 40-yrs of riding. One was broken wiring terminal due to vibration, internally it was still good.

Some possibilities:

1. bad crank pickup-coils, more likely mis-alignment due to loose mounting bolt
2. bad ECU, but also very unlikely.
3. bad wiring with shorts or broken wires, very, very likely
4. bad on/off kill-switch, very possible
5. bad IG fuse. Also possibility and you'll get a steal if this is case!
6. if it doesn't crank at all, most likely interloc safety switches.

If you know how to use multimeter and can do basic AND/OR logic, get it!!!
